Truck - Diesel engine with pto driving pump
also different dump styles - scissor lift, single/double cylinders, telescopic cylinder lifts

I've mentioned this before.. I pulled into a coworker's house just after he'd gotten home pulling a trailer load of gravel with his company truck. After just a quick glance I asked "About 8000 lbs"? and was right on the money. That was in a 10K dump trailer behind his 1/2 ton company pickup... and no trailer brakes. He'd just come right through the town of Houlton then another 10 miles home... I'm not sure what he would have done if somebody had pulled out in front of him. Actually I do, he would have smeared them all over the pavement.

Why would you pull out in front of a truck, let alone one with a loaded trailer behind it?

Yes, I know it’s not a fair comparison. Aside from being stronger the pto dumps are way faster.

They would pull out because they aren't paying attention. They have a video screen in front of them, a cell phone in their hand, a car the tells them if there is a car next to them, what could possibly go wrong? Driving is the last thing they are thinking about and for some of them it will be.

That or they don't want to be behind the truck pulling a trailer.

Why would you pull out in front of a truck, let alone one with a loaded trailer behind it?

They would pull out because they don't expect a pickup with a grossly overloaded trailer. Or it might be that the car in front of him stopped to make a turn. Or it he might have been the one not paying attention...
When you are driving through town with a load which is over twice what the truck is designed to stop, all sorts of things can go wrong.
Plus it wasn't his truck, and he was pulling a borrowed trailer.
