Our machine has a problem and to make matters worse, the mechanic can't be here for two days. The immediate problem is, it has stalled right in front of our garage door and locked in our car. We did try to tow it with our Tacoma but it's a bad angle and on a sheet of ice. Our attempts at the tow barely move it an inch and it's like the wheels are locked.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Very early Toolcats can have the brakes released by screwing in special bolts. Later ones do not have that option. Hydraulic pressure from a running toolcat will release the brakes....not running, no hyd press means the brakes are on. Do you have a floor jack? How 'bout those rolling platforms people put a car on to roll around? What is under the ice...gravel, pavement? How far do you have to move it? Can you beg/borrow 2 floor jacks from a shop? Maybe jack up each tire and slide a kids plastic sled (round saucer) under each tire. I bet it would slide real good then.

slide down right into the street quickly, that's not safe!!.. ice is very slippery!!. using a tow truck would be much safer!!.. think of what could happen if the tractor slides down the driveway into the street!!.

There was no indication of the driveway slope. We don't even know if a flatbed truck can get in their driveway. It would also help if we knew if it has a implement on the front.

No slope on the gravel driveway and the ice it's on would break under the pressure. A flatbed can easily get to it. We managed to get the blade off as it was, get this, just on the inside of the garage door. I like the plastic sled idea, we have a lot of that stuff around here.

Thank you so much for the quick help.

One more thing. How do I like the box when it's not running?

I've heard of using a hydraulic hand pump and connecting the hose to the brake system to pump up enough pressure (something like 800 psi IIRC) to release the brakes.
