Local news so far is saying it isn't any worse as far as symptoms go but is much easier transmitted. I suspect they will soon say it is airborne but don't want to panic the public yet.

That is what I heard too. It is still bad news.

Fewer potential treatment options define how serious a particular disease may be.
A particular disease is not more "serious" (life threatening), to a particular individual, just because it happens to be more contagious.

A virus can only be "life threatening" if you get it. If the virus becomes much more contagious it also becomes more dangerous to those people that don't have it. It only increases the odds of more people dying.

I just talked to my BIL, they got it early March. He said he's feeling better, but still having some issues. Going on almost a year after. BIL is /was very healthy, good weight, swam at the Y 3 times a week, but still feeling fatigue. Probably better to not get the virus in the first place, even with 99+ percent survival rate.
