continue sucking the lifeblood from people.

we have very high standards when it comes to the benefits of civilization and a vast bureaucracy
humming along smoothly. It just won't be free. But if you thought you were getting
something worthwhile back Lou, now I don't think you'd mind a little nibble...;)
but I think I can guess where you'd like them to bite Lou. :D

booked a 100 percent refundable cruise to Newport RI and Bermuda in June, out of Liberty NJ.
Been there, done this several times, betting on the world being safer by then.
Got a nice balcony room on Penthouse floor, midships, so most stable part of ship. They had one
left of a room with an extra wide ocean view. I have until mid March to cancel.
Have been on this Celebrity Summit several times before, including the Royal Suite with my late wife.
That was the time I let her pick the room. The grand piano was nice and she actually played it.
Now I'm among the commoners but in a better than average room. One of my criteria was to hide the bedroom
so one person could take a nap and other could be up.

now I just have to find someone to take with me.

25F and cloudy with a snow shower currently (11:00), headed up to a high of 28F for the day. Accumulation about an inch today, had no significant accumulation overnight ...

Took trash and recycle bin up to the road yesterday afternoon for pick up today - was chilly but not too bad, then paperwork organizing/scheduled some bills to be paid. Think all our 1099's are in here.

Cleaned up last of hot wings for lunch yesterday ... :licking: Thought about fixing salmon for dinner last night, decided to finish off some beer-battered frozen pollack instead. Woman had Stouffers Alfredo (after snacking most of the day) Still need to finish up the beef stew.

After that a movie, then nightly news, then another movie. We both fell asleep during the second one. Woman woke up later and had to watch second one to put her back to sleep. I stayed down for the count ...

Waiting for the appointed hour to try and schedule the appointment for The Woman's first vaccination. After that might fire up the Kubota and unload van/haul critter food around to the back. Then maybe refill feeders. Also need to update her phone. Possible sheet cake action as well.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Good Morning!!!! 39F and cloudy in Klamath Falls.

Loooooong day yesterday running up to the Portland area to drop off the front diff for the van. Came away with a repaired decoupler, having replaced a sleeve that proved to be the source of the leak. More than 600 miles covered, some through sloppy and slick mountain passes, not my idea of a good time.

Buddy here spent the day taking down trees, helping a neighbor and making friends. More of the same for him, while I hit the road for home...

Drew, I agree - Flat Tax and everyone 16+ pays, no exceptions, no deductions, credits, nothing, just x % taken out at employer. I’ll bet if everyone pays it would be miniscule, just a couple %. Won’t happen. Too many lawyers, accountants, etc would be against it. Add to that the bleeding hearts that prefer the tax system over a straight up benefit system.
One can dream.

I think I am available but I' check with the wife and get back to you!
Finally got a date this Thursday for the first covid shot (Moderna) . The wife has calmed down to an acceptable level after hearing the good news. Hopefully in 5 weeks we can start to go places with a little more reassurance that we won't die as a result. Good morning and may good health brighten your day!

I have thought that the flat tax would be a good idea in the past. A guy making 40k a year would be more financially burdened than a guy making 1 million a year. I don't think that would be fair but that is just me!

If the people in charge are either lawyers, accountants that change will not happen but it is the most fair way to tax. The more one makes the more one pays. I have been in for a long time just no one listens

We are not rescheduling our Bermuda cruise from last year unless and until this pandemic is under better control. I won’t enjoy 10 days of cruising and sight seeing with a mask and social distancing.

.06” of rain so far, temp went up 13 degrees since lunch time, 53 out now. I have no idea what the next few days of weather will be, there are at least four different forecasts. Picked up some groceries from Food Lion, had them include a rotisserie chicken, it finished four minutes before she brought it out, got home and cut it up for sandwiches, I had Gouda and Mayo with dill pickle, chicken was warm enough to melt the cheese. Man that was Gouda eating!
Who says you can’t put the smoke back in?

Crazy warm 59 outside...but still have some snow on the ground...hated to come inside for lunch. Sounds like I should have driven to Salisbury rather than my apple and cheese.

Mostly, hope you get a nap today.

Ken, very cool icicles.

Buppies, sorry about your water situation...maybe the beach is trying to tell you to stay there. :)

Good visit at the dentist this morning. Talked with a new hygienist...3 young children: one in 1st grade and 1 in kindergarten...she and her husband both work...she is so glad that Chesterfield county finally reopened their government schools. She said how difficult it is for children that age to get educated at home on a computer and how much better they are now doing. Talked about how difficult wearing a mask all day has been...she was not complaining, just sharing how her family has been affected.

Charging up my generator battery today...heard my across the road neighbor running his generator yesterday evening...getting ready for whatever weather comes our way. His cows have recently calved, so was fun seeing the calves playing and running around way back on the hill. This morning ice storms of severe destruction were forecast...now sounds like the polar air will come further south and we may be lucky with just snow...but not good news for others south of us.

Had a good hike and brought in 5 wheelbarrows of wood, since ground too soft for the tractor.

She may be coming home tomorrow. She has to watch her water intake (which doesn't make any sense to me) and cut the salt down a lot. She is British and what Brit doesn't put a lot of salt on their fries.

For those interested in Starlink:

Starlink

My confirmation said 2022 for our area, but I let the come first served trigger me. I can park $99 for a bit. Gives me hope.
