Good Morning
It 16 and going to 32 today. Snow forecast tonight, but less than 4 inches., maybe just a dusting.

No pop up repair projects yesterday, except for my wife tearing the the power jack out of an Ethernet switch. We have been going through my mom’s old photos, and she was digging in the cubby between the dormers wher they had been stored like a bull in a china shop. She wasn’t aware that she did it at the time. My son came over to the shop and asked for an Ethernet tester because his computer lost connectivity. When he came back with the tester and told me that the problem was before his computer, I quickly put 2 and 2 together. I told him where the switch was and that hopefully it just needed to be plugged back in. He brought the damaged unit over, and while I likely could have connected directly to the board, bypassing the jack, I had another switch on the shelf and just gave him that.

Went to the Kubota dealer for a pail of hydro oil, and a filter, then spent the majority of the day scanning photos and wood shedding with a bass.

I wonder what today will bring.

Workinonit, I look forward to hearing more about power plants, other than a tour of Hoover Dam, I’ve never been in one, and know little about them.

Still no vaccine

Morning all;
A nice balmy 10F to start the day, the sun is shinning and got most of the snow plowing done yesterday on our 5".
A bit more cleaning up around the shop and sand pile and clean of the tarp on the sand pile.
Still pretty much a cluster jerk on covid vaccinations around here, if I care to drive 2-3 hours each way could get one scheduled, not going to happen.
No news from the VA as to a time line for it.
Had a tella health doc visit yesterday, what a circus now waiting to hear when the followup office visit will be for a minor procedure.

Everyone stay safe, get well
Lou

Good morning, the temperature is +4°F and going to a high of 16. Wind ESE 5 mph. Mostly cloudy with 40% chance of flurries.

I might have to go to North Bay today and get DIL from hospital. Won't know for sure until about 10 or so.
There is nothing else planned for today except that run.

Have a safe day all

16°F and snowing this morning, only going up to 19° again today. We had about an additional 1/2" this morning. On the bright side, drivers had greatly slowed their roll this morning. I averaged about 45mph all the way to work (much less than that on our country roads). We're expecting more snow tonight and tomorrow, and single digit highs for Sunday. February is typically our hardest Winter month, and here it is in all it's glory.

We definitely need to look into the Starlink possibility, David. Thanks for the link.

Welcome to the GM thread, Workinonit.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 6:15AM. Mostly sunny. High 67F. Winds light and variable.
Yesterday was warm as well, and spent a good part of the afternoon running errands in Chico with no jacket at all. Quite a change from Klamath Falls, where I wore several layers, even to bed!

A friend in northern Washington started StarLink service late last year. Sent him an email this morning asking if he's still happy with it. I see I can now sign up for it, whereas before, all I could do was volunteer for the beta program. In the mean time, my satellite modem is being restarted automatically a half dozen times a day, whenever the link goes down.

Got voicemail yesterday morning before I left that the new boxblade was ready for pickup, and since I was dead heading south with the trailer, swung by the freight terminal as one of my errands. Bozo on the forklift made kindling out of the pallet, blaming the machine all the way. Left me just enough to fork it out when I got home, with a lot less drama.

Stopped by the Kubota dealer in Klamath Falls on the way out of town and picked up a bucket of Super UDT oil. Not sure the price was any less than locally, but Oregon doesn't charge a sales tax.

No issues on the trip home, other than stupid people that can't seem to figure out how to yield when they're using a freeway on ramp. Was forced out of the slow lane multiple times as I passed through Redding, the next fair sized city to the north of Chico.

This morning I'll see if I can't get a new gate opener ordered, then get the decoupler installed on the van so the tranaxel will be closed up for this weekend's rain. If there's time left, I'll try the new quick hitch out on the new boxblade.

Hope everyone enjoys their Hump Day!

Ken, I couldn't find the little ninjas to herd them.
When I rattle the Temptations can all the cats usually come a runnin' even if they are asleep, EXCEPT for those two.
I will try a different tactic next week on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

I find it funny that we that live out of town can run at 60 mph on snow covered back roads/gravel roads, yet people in the city can't seem to negotiate wet pavement at the limit.

deer came through last night, ignored my hot pepper dust, ate every last bit of the seed and cleaned out both bird feeders.
Found one bird feeder under picnic bench, upside down and hatch wide open, looked like it had been vacuumed out. But not clawed.
So, after a full restock, the birds were back and chowing down again.
There's usually about 30 birds out there after I fling seed around.
hope that deer woke up with a stomach ache and his two squirrel accomplices too
