BEF did wife make it back safe and sound from hairdresser?
The Whirlpool range here has a safety shutoff solenoid valve that must have 110V power to open. When the power goes off, no gas will flow to the burners, oven, or broiler. When the power comes back on, I have to press and hold down one of the control buttons to re-energize the solenoid. Near as I can tell, the valve is not a mandatory requirement, so your stove may work just fine without electricity.
Here's a list of things that might and might not work during a power outage. It was written in 2019 when PG&E started turning off the electricity to residents in areas prone to wildfires.
Thanks. After a trip to very crowded grocery store to get a lighter I was thinking that was a wasted trip but after scrounging around I found the operators installation papers the previous residents left. Even though it's only 5 years old it has a Power Failure paragraph that states it can be lit by a match by turning the burner to HI. But the hood vent is electric, so without electricity it can be used for a limited time only with ventilation and not to use it to heat the kitchen, due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
