Good morning, 22 going to 32, about 50% of snow melted, everything else is now ice covered. Roads clear
Now calling for 5.8" tomorrow and 1 " Saturday, we'll see.

Sorry to hear about the water situation Kyle, hope that gets fixed real soon!
All you Texas folks are getting hit hard, wish I could pop down with my genny and some water, if it wasn't so far....
Still praying for you brother BEF, hope he recovers soon
Ron - that tunneling squirrel and my dog would get along fine in the snow :) Great picture!
RichB1 - Emus? too small to ride, too big to ignore :)
Workinonit -keep us in photos of the "new" tractors-interested to see

Stay safe and be well

Nice Farmall Workinonit, my first tractor was an "A".

I agree. They made so many of these tractors, the dealer in Washington NC told me the A's, Super A's
and 140's and tobacco built Beaufort County. Bet it was like that in SC too, corn, tobacco, collards and cotton.
Nice rolling cultivators. Fun to just look down and watch that disk or cultivator working right below you.

Good morning, the temperature is -13°F and going to a high of 16. Wind S 2 mph. Sunny!

We are slowly climbing out of the deep freeze. By next Tuesday we could see above freezing temps.

Nothing is planned for today, so I will conserve energy.

Have a safe day all

Good morning. Poured first cup of coffee, looked at temp. -20 nominal, but -34 with the windchill!🥶🥶

Good thing I blew the built-up snow yesterday afternoon, when it was a balmy +17.

Inside day today for sure. Will organize the long-neglected workroom.

Meanwhile, FIL plans are firming up. Now that MIL is gone, he doesn’t want to live all alone in Calgary with no immediate family in town. So, SIL will be flying out on the 19th, and then flying back to Toronto and then up to Barrie with him at the beginning of April. They will hold a one bedroom for him at the retirement residence in Barrie (about an hour north of Toronto), and SIL and her husband will be 10 minutes away in the same town. Big life change.

10F and "fair" @ 09:00, headed up to a high of 24F with clouds moving in later today. Snow showers developing after midnight, about an inch of accumulation expected through tomorrow.

Red-bellied and hairy woodpeckers out at the suet feeders this morning.

Need to refill squirrel feeder at least, possibly hopper feeder as well ... scatter some cracked corn for the ground feeders.

Beyond that, will blow the driveway off with the snow blower and clear/shovel off entry way and salt it down.

Hope everyone has a safe day ...

Yes it was. I saw it come out the woods. Then dropped below the deep snow. Picked up camera. Had it focused when it's head popped out.

Nice pic ...

Have noticed them digging down in the snow here this past week when I got behind on the filling the feeder.

Hopefully trying to find some chow they cached previously.

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 6:00AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 61F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.

All this talk about electrical power, and PG&E sent out another inspector yesterday looking for dead and dying trees that might land on the lines. Didn't find any on my property, and told me that the state won't let the utility clear brush or trees in the Lake Oroville park. So now I know who to file suit against next time. He also gave the two big Ponderosa pines on the north side of the property a clean bill of health. Both have fire damaged trunks, and one had mechanical damage from when the lot was cleared. Gonna get some tree bark sealant stuff to help 'em along.

Also got the voltage sag plot figured out and sent it along with an updated punch list to the solar power system contractor. Now I get to sit and wait for them to do something with it. Last update was October of last year, and the response I got was more a list of excuses than action.

Finished the day by cutting up another steel Kubota pallet, and have enough rectangular tubing to make another pair of firewood pallets now. Latest batch of Harbor Freight cut off discs didn't last very well, but at least they don't explode like the previous ones did. Think I'll do some Amazon review shopping today and try to find a better source. Maybe some of you guys have a favorite?

Hope the heartland weather warms up and things get back to normal sooner rather than later...

Happy Hump Day, gang!

7°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 19° today. The voice on the radio suggested we might get another 1-3" today.

Great picture, Ron.

That's a good-looking tractor, Workinonit. Congrats.

Hope our Texas contingent can hang in there and get through this mess.

Good Wednesday morning. It's a balmy 28° here this morning with freezing rain. We may get just above freezing, this afternoon, for the first time since last Thursday. We'll be back below freezing by late afternoon and stay there until Friday p.m.

Our rolling blackouts continue this morning. Typically on for 1 1/2 hours then off for 30-45 minutes. It's aggravating but .. better than some who've had no power for 2-3 days.

Our snow covered road.

We're blessed that everyone is being careful with auxiliary heating, candles, etc. Fighting fires, in this kind of weather, isn't ideal. Columbus VFD had to respond to a fire alarm at Tractor Supply but the issue was that their emergency pump that supplies their o/h sprinkler system, in a separate metal building, had frozen up and was leaking water. The pump had no protection even though the store had power, suffering the same rolling blackouts as the rest of us. I guess I'll have to show them how it's done?

I did put a temperature gauge in the side of the plastic trash can but forgot to see how warm the 100 watt bulb was keeping it. Obviously warm enough .. no water issues.

Our small tank had about 3/8" of ice yesterday afternoon. The large tank had none.

No big plans for today but .. may work on a couple of small projects in the shop.

Hope everyone stays safe and warm today.

Prayers to all.
