I'm thinking that's too small? I'm also really want to spend 20k not 25. But that might be worth investigating some

I am sure that more equals better!

5600lb and 9' digging depth.

If you want to stay in NH, there are very few machines available under 20k.

I would travel a handful of hours no issues. I'm also not in a rush

Make sure you check out Deere, Takeuchi (invented the mini ex in 1969) and Yanmar. Fine machines.
Properly cared for, they are all good. Some of the big names (Case, New Holland, etc) are just re-badged Japanese, Korean, Italian or German machines.
I read a Terex machine for a while. Thought it would be inferior and it was just fine.

Yes I have seen a lot of them are the same machine just different badges.

As long as the motor is a brand I am comfy with and I can get parts I am game.

Watch the pump brands, too. I just replaced a Rexroth pump in a farm tractor for $8,500!

Anyone know what type of pumps on the case cx36b?

Or that U25?

Type wise the cx 36 uses a axial piston pump that puts out two separate flows of 10gpm each, then piggybacked to that a gear pump that puts out about 5gpm that supplies your swing motor and blade. Pretty sure that gear pump also adds supplemental supply to your boom and arm cylinders, it's known to be a good system. As far as OEM manufactures of the pumps they all seem to keep that somewhat of a secret but I think that 36 may use a Bosch/rexroth. Whatever brand of pump used as long as the hyd oil is kept clean, not allowed to overheat and run at a reasonable speed they should go for many hours.
