No doubt up there you have a LOT of this to work on. For snow the bucket is not as large as you might want it. Especially in width. I found an old discarded used bucket about 50% larger than the stock BX bucket and had a welding shop modify the attachment pin points on the old bucket so it would fit the Kubota loader. That took some cut and try to get the pin locations just right but has worked well. Not a lot of money in it either.

I am a little puzzled by the high pitched whine on the sound in your video. Is that real or just distorted sound from the video ? My BX sure doesn't sound like that.

My hearing is far from perfect but I noticed that too. I get that sound when the tractor is struggling somewhat (like when it should be in low rather than high). but in the work shown in the video high gear seemed to be ok re tractor power. Gives me reason to check hst levels tomorrow.

According to some of guys at TractorByNet / Kubota Lawn & Garden forum, that is the kind of sound you get if using non-Kubota HST fluid!

IE. They say use the Super UDT2

Could that be the case with your BX?

Unless there is some significant difference in viscosity I do not believe that. Brands do not really matter except for sales income. IMO.

I used Kubota Premium UDT for my last HST oil change. BTW I just checked the oil level and it is perfect.
Here's me using the Premium UDT in my BX (you can jump to 7:30 in the video)

I have not decided if I believe it or not, however the price difference may not be enough to make a much difference?
Five gallon bucket of Super UDT2 oil sells for $103.12 locally.

I am just in the middle of re-assembling a Kubota HST and have decided saving $15 - 20 on oil is peanuts in the big picture.

In the HST I am working on the biggest issue was oil leaks due to few shrunken shaft seals. Most of the seals had become loose in their respective "housings" or bores, causing oil leaks.
Hard to say whether this was caused by improper HST oil, or improper seal material?

Your mileage may differ?

My comment in post #5 has nothing to do with the price of the fluid. I'm just saying I don't think the non-brand name fluid causes the high pitched whine we hear in the video.

Another point to consider is that the GoPro camera case was magnetically attached to the BX ROPS thereby making for direct mechanical vibration as well as sound transfer to the camera audio input. Might have made a difference.

i think its normal for some kubota's i saw a couple video's where they are high pitched. and i can hear the whine of my neighbors hst, 300 yards away in my house, its that loud, it would drive me nuts to be honest, and his video looks sped up
