I see civil servants who lead and do things for the betterment of the public.

And younger generations who are more highly educated and focused, actually getting involved trying to change things.

Buddies wife just retired from VA, nurse. She loved the old guys but hated the job..... so to speak. Knowing nurses can get a job anywhere I asked, why not work for a local hospital etc etc etc.

That's when I learned that not only do they get far far better bennies but she got 30% more in salary. And vets are dying waiting in line. Phoenix, Fayetteville and who knows where else.

That horse has left the stable. 90% of my ex in-laws were govt. employees and it went on for at least 3 generations. It was like a family business. Imho, the government is the worst employer out there, unless you nailed down one of those cushy jobs. I don't blame people for picking low hanging fruit, that's just being human but, i don't have to respect them.

Seems like a lot of folks trade security for almost anything just to avoid problems and confrontation. Those are the same folks trying to get us vaccinated.

Problem avoiders go to work for the govt so let's let them solve all our problems.....just don't forget that $1400 check!

I’ve played water polo internationally overseas and have quickly learned to get used to topless women lounging on pool decks watching us while we practice. It’s just another day to us.

Personally. I think getting into water wearing a pair of trousers cut off at the knees absurd. Must be the German in me.

The age and if gravity has had affects on said women could cause one to have to ask for a towel before exiting pool water.....:ashamed:
I went to a big D-1 university and was a lifeguard for my college job and water polo practice and matches were pretty entertaining to lifeguard.

I was sitting in my office one day about 11 or 12 years ago now, listening to people bitchin and complaining and decided I had had enough. I stood up and walked into my managers office next door and said. "I've had a gutful and I'm off!" He stared at me in disbelief. He was lost for words. I went back a few days later with my resignation letter and the relieving CEO asked if I would like to reconsider (he was a nice chap) but I declined and never went near the place again.
I think that is why I am still alive. Shortly after I left 3 of my close associates died of heart attacks. They were all dedicated chaps but the 'company' took advantage of that fact too.
Incidentally the relieving CEO is one that had a heart attack and died.
Two had families and they were all younger than me. One in his early 30s'.
So I took up my 'dream' job. Retirement at 60 years.

I quickly decided a desk job wasn稚 for me and quite college after a semester.

Parents dream was for me to go to college and I could play a sport, so off I went. It was a great experience. I was recruited in my junior year to work in downtown Philly for a big company on the 20th floor.
After about 2 years of office politics, I went back to work for my dad. By 25, I was making money on my own. Love owning my own businesses and making the decisions. I have good people working for me and it just keeps growing better every year.

I didn't so much quit a desk job as was unable to get one. After college I lived and worked overseas for a few years, came back here and was pretty much unemployable. Got married and spent a year doing a horrible job. I quit it and did some work with my dad but that wasn't long term sustainable. Wife and I bought some land and I built us a house. After I finished I looked for a job but nobody was interested. So I decided to start building houses on speculation. Built and sold one, about to start two more. I was spoiled working overseas but now I am pretty happy building. I draw the houses myself, and do pretty much all of the work once the roof is on, plumbing/electrical/HVAC excepted. If I didn't have a wife and child I would go back overseas in a heartbeat.
