Summit 3rd function kit compatibility

Greetings,

I have purchased a Worksaver grapple for my Kubota B2630/LA 403 and am looking at various Summit 3rd function kits for it. They don't have a kit specifically for my combination of tractor/FEL. They have one for a B2620/LA 364 and also a kit for a B3300/LA 540. I did contact them and the advice they came back with was basically that they didn't know if either of those kit would fit and suggested that I should order the Universal kit which is available with fittings but no hoses. I've had custom hoses made up in the past and if I have to go that route I will but I thought I would ask the question here and see if anyone here has ordered a kit with hoses for a B2630/LA 403 and if so, which kit did you go with. Any other suggestions gratefully considered. Cheers, Erik

Good Morning Erik. Along with your new grapple you should consider this. Add some type of shielding to your OEM grill guard. I had a young fellow, at the local welding shop, weld this up.

This will reduce the chances that sticks, stobs and limbs can get to your radiator, grill & battery.

Thanks for that! My tractor does have a grill guard but certainly nothing that would keep a rad piercing branch from achieving it's only purpose in life. Will look into getting some of that diamond shaped mesh and securing in place. Cheers, Erik

The mesh is called expanded metal. Erik - google "brush guard". There are dozens of different designs/patterns that all work well. Maybe you will come up with something that is uniquely yours ..............

I have a WR Long 3rd function valve. You might want to check with them online.

Cant say for sure, but I'd guess the 2620 kit would be what you need for a 2630....since the 2630 is basically the same tractor just a newer designation.

Worst case, if a fitting or two are incorrect you can source them for a few bucks locally... but all the major components should work just fine.

I doubt the B2620 will fit, the loader valve is in different locations and its a smaller frame size (b2620 is under the floorboard). The B2630 is the predecessor to the B2650 but the B2650 also moved the loader valve to under the floorboard.

It sounds like the universal kit might be your best bet.

I did a bit more poking around today looking at photos of the B2620 and B2650 and you're right the loader valves are in a different location than on the B2630 so it looks like the Universal Kit is the way I'm going to go. A bit of a pain in the rump as we are still have a number of COVID restrictions in place here which makes getting custom hoses made up slightly more challenging. Thanks for your help. I was going to suggest Discounthydraulichose.com but realized you are in Canada so not sure if that'll work for you. But if you can order from them and you don't need anything special like clocked fittings, they only charge a $10 assembly fee.

I was in the same boat as you are now with my 2150. Summit gave me the same answer as you, "Universal kit".
But, I liked the prospect of an all inclusive package.
The biggest concern for me was if the forward hoses would reach.

After researching other FEL and tractor specs to my setup, I determined that a L2501, L3301, and L3901 with LA 525 Loader & L3200 and L3800 with LA 524 were pretty dang close to my dimensions. So that is the kit I went with.
Not saying this will work for you, but explaining my thought process. Keeping in mind the length of the hoses to the front was a priority to me.

The mounting brackets I could fabricate if needed. The 2 shorter hoses I could have made local at an OK price.
But to have all the hoses made locally and using the "universal" valve would have cost much more then the "package" + 1-2 short hoses.

As it turns out my PB hose was long enough to reuse and mated to the 3rd function valve perfectly. The forward hoses were a tad long but worked out well. The only hose I needed was the FEL PB, to P port on the 3rd function valve. I had that hose made locally to length. Female swivel JIC #6 on both ends and 3/8" hose. (Again, my setup. Not necessarily will fit yours.)

At our local hose place, if you know hose pressure, length, diameter, and the fitting sizes/types. They can Fabricate a hose up, take payment, and do a Zero contact pickup. Made my life way easy. All I had to do was ask about it.

I'm not familiar with your tractor or FEL. So I can't recommend what you should use. Just trying to explain how I went about it.
