The police chief position is a revolving door... some only lasting days or months and lawsuits filed over wrongful dismissal.

Citizen review can terminate officers including Chief.

The sad truth is many in uniform are counting the days to pension...

Police will no longer stop vehicles for Minor issues such as missing tags...

My fear is this nonsense will spread to all urban areas and those with the means will flee to smaller towns or rural areas. The criminals will then come to the small towns and rural areas.

One really must consider that eventuality... Hey, it was good while it lasted! :proposetoast:

I am quite sure I will be outta here before the chit hits the fan, but unfortunately you young bucks are gonna see the ugly stuff!

Yep... California has long been a bell weather of things to come...

Years ago my friends adamantly said they would never drive unleaded only cars and we know how that went...

Then the current Governor preformed the first city/county same sex marriages and it did not long to go nationwide...

No longer a limited to Bay Area or California but more accurately a West Coast theme...

My time spent in Olympia very closely parallel my experience in Berkeley CA and Portland and Seattle are more like San Francisco than Kis Angeles...

The take away is police cannot be everywhere and even if they can respond the possibility of standing down may be the reality of the situation.

No way would I shoot a thief. You will be charged with murder if it wasn't a life threatening event. I have Concealed carry insurance and you become aware of when to pull the trigger.

I don't disagree with you, but when I see a man with a gun who I don't know, and he's looking directly at me (particularly if I'm on his property without his permission), generally the first things that would never pop in my head are

1 - He would never shoot me because he doesn't want to deal with the legal issue.

2 - Debate the caliber of the handgun or rifle to determine if the caliber could actually kill me (we all know a .380 is useless).

3 - Wonder how much he paid for the gun because cheap guns can never shoot straight.
