Yes I have considered renting, however I don’t have the time to do all of the work in a single set amount of time, I’ll have to be working a few hours here and there and sundays. So even if I spread it out over 3-4 weekends and took the time off work to do so, when I add in the costs and time to transport the equipment to and from the house. I’m estimating around $2k in rental costs and lost work. Which is close to 2 years of payments. Add in the thought that I’ll need a new(er) mower in the next year or two, and that would probably end up being a JD x500 series. So I’m half way to the cost of a new sub compact over the next few years.
Renting probably makes more sense, but it takes away from the landscaping funds I have set aside.

I like the JD, except for the plastic, the 3 pt position control is their biggest plus over other brands. I have watched many Tractor Time with Tim and Messicks videos, very helpful.

You will do all your big yard work, and continue to find more uses for your SCUT. You will not have an overpriced mower sitting around. Are you in snow country? You will find that tasks will become fun.

Yes, definitely get snow, I’m in Michigan, and my little cub cadet just couldn’t handle the last few snows, neighbor had to assist with his Kubota L series.
