Good afternoon all, I have a 2018 XG3025H with FEL & backhoe. I just purchased a grapple for it and I need to plumb in the hydraulics for it. I was wondering if I can use the connections from my backhoe to control the grapple. Is this connection to the backhoe considered the "power beyond" connection? If so, can I use a log splitter valve to control the opening and closing of the grapple? I would like to keep the cost down as much as possible. I'll take any recommendations you have. Thanks.

How is your backhoe plumbed in? Is it through the rear remotes (If you have them?)? Does one of the lines return to the transaxle or back though a valve?
Do you currently have a log splitter that you hook to your tractor? Or do you simply have the valve?

There are no rear remotes, (bad move on my part), but the backhoe is connected to a single, (pair) connection running under the seat. I do not have a splitter connected to the back of the tractor. I have a spare valve lying around and I thought I could use it in this situation.

It would take a bit of plumbing. But I dont think that would be an issue. It would be like running the 3rd function from the rear remotes.
I dont have built in hydraulic system for a backhoe, I run my BH off the rear remotes. So if someone who has a similar machine could weigh in, dont just take my word for it. 😉

Like avenger said, it would be simple if you had the rear remotes. The cost of a third function kit would be the same if not more than adding the pair of rear remotes.

yes, you can tap into your existing plumbing, but by the time you buy all the required pieces / parts, you would be at least 1/2 the costs to just get the remot kit...

Here is a new post of someone adding rear remotes to their Kubota... you could do something similar, then add hoses up to the front.

This isn't a bad idea. It seems to be a lot more flexible than dedicated connections just for the grapple.
