Identity theft. What a nightmare

I would also invest in a decent paper shredder.

shred everything with your name, address and any account number on it.

other than that, sounds like you are now setup to protect yourself.

This is a very good idea. I was amazed that the shredder got filled so fast!

Be sure that paper shredder is a cross cut style - the smaller the better.

you should reconsider this.

if anyone changes anything on your acct, they text you a 4 digit code Sent to your phone. If that code is not entered, the change is not processed.

its Extra security for your protection in an attempt to stop scams like this.
If they don't have your phone they email you a code. Same difference. I'm just talking about email accounts and Facebook and such as that. My bank has my phone but beyond that I am very stingy with it. For parts stores and places I want to easily identify me with a phone but I don't want calling I use my old land line number that has been out of service for years and not reused.

I guess I've been lucky but I have strong passwords on anything that matters.

Had my debit card skimmed once and my credit card skimmed once. Both were caught in hours and shut down. I have both my cards set to text me for any charge over $20 so they can't get far with them without my knowing about it.

Scams....here's an odd ball and imho fucussed at a very limited audience.

The world is full of unwanted pianos. Millions. Usually they have no value and you must pay to have them removed. That's a shame but that's a whole different problem.

Craig's list has many free pianos so, I looked into a few. I'm gonna put a little upright in the shop so when murphy shows up i got something else do do.

I've used craig's list for years and had some success. Craig's list is full of scammers and flakes.....i think more flakes than anything.

The lady is giving away the piano. I was contacted by her moving co to arrange delivery, at about $300.

How many people do you know who play piano? Strange scam that one or many just another flake?
