As I've grown older, I learn about more things I'd like to do, and I keep running into things have no choice but to do. I'm grateful I had the option to retire, even though there's little chance I'll get them all done because the list is getting longer faster than it's getting shorter. 🤣

You hit the nail right on the head, RNG! My list just keeps getting longer and longer, and I’m not even retired yet! But, as I keep telling myself, it’s a Labor of love.

But your memory gets shorter and shorter so you won't even remember what's on the list.😱

Good morning
It’s 45 with a high of 55 forecast. Light winds and rain. Possibly as much as 2”. The fields were just drying out, this should make things swampy again.

Yesterday went as planned, made great progress on speaker, and got my first Pfizer shot. Got it at county site 10 minutes away. I had a 1:15 appointment, got there at 1, was driving home at 2:15. The shot was totally uneventful. This morning I had to look which arm had the bandaid to know where I got the shot. I hope the second one goes the same way.
Wife got stuck with manure spreader, had to pull her out of the mud, today’s rain won’t help field conditions.

Went to look at a friends new (to him) house and give him some guidance on how to finish a lot of amateur home improvements. The good news is that it is a very well built house with great mechanicals, mostly updated. Things like seeing diagonal tongue and groove subfloors and precast concrete on steel I beams when you look at the basement ceiling. I would guess there was at least 50 branch circuits spread across two neatly done 40 circuit panels. He certainly has his work cut out for him, but it won’t be a money pit in the long run.

I was going to fire up the smoker today, I’m going to postpone it till tomorrow due to the rain. The smoker is well insulated and works fine in the rain, I just don’t want to deal with starting the fire and loading the meat while getting soaked. The plan is to fire it up in the evening and let it cook overnight. So Friday will be pulled pork day. Ken and Drew, you’re welcome to come pick some up if you’re in the neighborhood.

Today will have me in the shop staying dry and working on the speaker and learning some new songs.

Second shot is April 13.

Good morning, a lovely spring day here, 13C/55F at midday and no frost this morning, my wife was able to leave her precious tomato plants in the greenhouse for the night instead of them sharing the utility with Max.

We usually divide sheep up into different groups for the first few weeks after lambing, this year the shortage of grass has necessitated spreading them out even further than normal over 4 fields. As only one of these has a pond I spend quite a bit of time making sure they have plenty of water. I don't mind that, quite enjoy watching the lambs while I wait for a pump to fill a trough from an underground storage tank. Only pain is carrying car batteries back home to charge them up, so I have ordered a couple of solar panels. Have to make a housing for them and a charge controller, then I can leave battery out all year round.

LS, pleased there is no sign of a clot. Try not to get too frustrated, you are really good with your hands, there has got to be things you can still make while sitting down and healing.

Wng, I am quite envious of your Merlin and thespian woodcock sightings, much better than the rooks and grunting ravens that are dominating our fields at the moment

48°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 64° today. More rain coming overnight tonight and into tomorrow. Then, it looks like we're done for the next week or so. Mid-70s predicted for Saturday.

Mostly_, the LP plays nice. I still haven't replaced the pickups. Thought about doing that last night, but watched a movie instead . There is a little fret buzz in a couple places high on the neck, so it's going to get a good fret job as well when I do the pickup swap. I spent a little time playing the headless guitar last night. That thing is a joy to play.

Ron, playing one note is the easy part. It's all the other notes around it that start to make music complicated ... and simultaneously, fun. Thanks for reminding me that our piano could benefit from a Spring tuning.

Thomas, I can't imagine having to ask permission from my state to burn tree limbs, much less pay them for a permit. That's crazy.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 8:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High around 70F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Still no rain in the 10-day, but we'll see highs in the low 80s by the end of next week.😓

Wish the news had been better for you at the doctor's Ted, but at least you've eliminated blood clots. Easy as she goes on the PT, right?

Cute chipmunk, Ron. How many do you have there?

Interesting wildlife sightings, Bill. Thanks for sharing.

I was pleasantly surprised at how organized the injection clinic was yesterday. Lots of signs and volunteers directing traffic, checking IDs, and keeping people moving. I showed up 15 minutes early and was ushered right through, with only a few minutes standing in a well spread out line waiting my turn. The young woman that gave me my shot was a nursing student, and I kidded her about how much practice she'd getting. It showed, as I barely felt the jab. Side effects so far are about the same as my regular flu shot: Sore at the injection site and that's about it. Hope it stays that way.

Caught up with a burrito on the way back home, ate it in front of the computer reading the news, more tragedy out of Colorado. All that food made me sleepy, but I managed to put some time in at the workbench installing new parts on one of the chainsaws and on the angle grinder. Was gonna freshen up the brushes on the angle grinder, too, but it didn't need it, so it's ready to go for cutting up the next set of pallets. By the time I finished that I was even sleepier, so took a nap for a couple hours, then watched a movie and went to bed. Couldn't sleep, probably because of the nap. Now getting a late start on the day. Hoping I can find enough wood to load the last pallet, and maybe even start chopping on some more steel, but I'm gonna take it a little easier today in case some side effects show up.

Hope everyone enjoys their Hump Day!

The Wife has been getting a bunch of phone calls and emails, allegedly from SiriusXM, regarding an overdue amount of $247.51. This prompted me to check our account a couple weekends ago and find that they hadn't cancelled a radio we no longer have. With no small amount of aggravation, I got the radio issue straightened out. The phone calls and emails persisted, however, and we even got a letter in the mail a couple of days ago. So, I called SiriusXM today. What a treat that was. They have an endless maze of phone computer options, none of which involve talking with a human being. After several attempts at using the old standby of saying nothing in the hopes it would connect me with a real person, I finally found that pressing zero enough times will get you there. "Ann" (who sounded like a stereotypical operator from Minnesota) turned out to be very helpful in both confirming that we have a zero balance due, and escalating the complaint to higher ups for investigation since it appears someone got access to all of our account information.

Technology is wonderful, no?

67°F and only .11 inches rain last 24 hours.

Plan to take the new mower for initial run of dogs’ area. Only takes about 15 minutes. Can’t do it with the rider due to the fence on the slope especially if a bit wet. If only I’d made it a bit wider and longer...

Then I hope to install the Davis wx station tune up kit which also requires a good cleaning.

Lobster dinner with wife was great. Restaurant had a good business, almost to its reduced capacity and good protocol. Teased Sophie we could of had a second lawn mower for the cost, but she is so worth it.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning to all! Well the snow didn't materialize overnight.... just delayed, now expecting it this afternoon. We had some strong winds overnight with just a little snow which is plastered on the east facing vertical surfaces... strange looking.

Still windy/gusty and cold... finally reached 32°

Drew, I hope there isn't anything too serious with the shoulder.... another complicated joint.

Wing, I am envious of you being able to get out on the tractor.... (y)

David, always good to take care of your lady! Glad you guys had an enjoyable dinner.

As per the Dr's recommendations, I got some 20-30 mm/Hg compression stockings to help with the lower leg edema. I am hoping they will help. They actually feel pretty good so far.... Really tight to get on and off.... who needs PT after putting them on, you get a good workout just doing that!

Everyone have a great day!
