Hello . New guy here. I have a ford 4600 that I need to get bored and sleeved. I brought the block and sleeves to a machine shop in Orlando and he is not doing it. he had it 4 weeks now and keeps giving excuses. told me his " engine guy" is sick. I stopped in once and met the "engine guy" he seemed fine to me. Problem is I called 20 or so shops around central Florida and no one does cylinder boring any more. Most said the old guys that did it are retired or dead. I'm not new to tractors or machine work. I found one shop that quoted $1000 a cylinder. Way to high for me. Can anyone recommend a shop in central Florida that still does this?

Its not in central Fl but you might try an outfit in Hialeah Fl named Atlantic Engine Rebuilders they should be able to help you or steer you in the rite direction .

I've called ATP several times with no answer and the email contact form didn't work. i copied and pasted their email and sent them a message Friday. waiting on a response. Goodwin singer is an option since my work has me in Bradenton lately , I'll call them Monday. Going to be in Orlando Tuesday I'll stop into the machine shop, if he hasn't got started yet ill pick up my parts . I'm worried that he may have lost something by now. Gave him the block ,cam ,head, cam bearings. rod caps and bolt, camshaft, and all the new valves, springs and seals etc. I have family in the Hobe sound area so I could go there and visit too. I'll post some pics of the rebuild. Had low compression and minor cavitation.
ATP engines in Ocala is not not taking any new work this year, I'll stop in at the guy in Orlando to see if he made any progress tomorrow. I'll also try to give the guy who said $1000 a cylinder another try. I'll go in person this time , maybe I got the wrong guy or he was joking. If no luck then I'll have to bring it home and pursue other options
