Anybody Have Auto Owner's Insurance?

Auto Owners will fight, scratch, kick, and scream about claims. If you have a second one, you get the ‘watch your ass, we’re gonna drop you’ threatening letter. They’re cheap, but not so fun to deal with.
Btw, my claims were 3 years apart, and both were under $2,000.

Been seeking quotes and they came in quite a bit below what I have now, for both home and auto. About 40% lower. Before I switch, I'm curious to see if people have had issues with them.
Had Auto Owner's for 10 years. Zero problems. Annual price comparison puts them first. Spouse, who is in the personal injury law business also gives them high marks.

I keep thinking every year that A/O rates are too high. BUT - when I compare with others it leaves me dumbfounded. All insurance is "too high" - unless you have a claim.

When I shop around for automobile insurance, I usually end up with Travelers or Liberty Mutual,
they have come in under most others including USAA.
Also they have annual policys not semi-annual.
What sort of annual dividend do you get from Travelers or Liberty Mutual?

You mentioned USAA banking in a previous post. If you qualify I would use them for all Insurance they offer.

Not in Alaska. USAA and State Farm were both 2x higher than my Independent Agents policies.
I've told them both to stop pestering me with mailers, letters and phone calls.
....and, the USAA quality of coverage comparison is...???

None, I don't believe that either of them are a co-op.

I’ve been with Auto Owners for 7-8 years. No complaints but no claims either. Annual premium. About 25% less than State Farm (after 20 years) for the same autos & home coverage. I gave SF a chance to match AO, they wouldn’t or couldn’t.

And they're all 'good' as long as they're taking money from you instead of giving it to you.

They were considerably higher when I checked. a year or so ago. At least their on-line quote tool was. I don't know if a phone agent would be able to do better.

At any rate...it is prudent to shop around every couple of years. You may find better coverage at a cheaper rate.

I keep getting blurbs from Hartford( email and snail mail). So today I called the Hartford. I've had State Farm - since 1965. We compared apples to apples. This insurance is on my 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon( Taco Wagon). I have full coverage and lowest available deductibles.

My State Farm - - $895/year. The Hartford - - $1764/year.

It's REALLY hard to see the $505 savings they advertise - over State Farm. Looks more like State Farm is about $900 savings over The Hartford.

Maybe it's the "New Math"... :D

At various times I've price checked with Progressive, Geico, Liberty Mutual, and some of the other brand names yet they never come close to the rate I pay now. The lizard wanted more for six months than I pay now in a year... and didn't include full coverage on my tractor. Mine is a commercial policy left over from when I was self employed... I'm not sure what the difference is.
