Good morning!!!!

good morning all. 31 degrees out and the little plants are shivering. High in the 40s today, chilly spell until next week.
Easter Sunday supposed to be cloudy and dry and much warmer. Going to my brother's home locally where we will spend most
of the time outside. My job will be to make a big fruit salad to bring.

I still have a question about resizing, thanks guys for the info. First I wish the posting process itself would autosize the pics but I guess that's asking
too much of the software. I always thought the software conked out at 10 megs but this last time it error messaged three times at 8.5meg. Maybe the site has
changed its allowable parameters? So I either have a choice of taking pics at lower resolution, say 4 meg with a setting on the camera (I'm assuming I can do this) or
I have to run an Apple app on them and resave, or process pics somewhere and then repost. With all the pics I post that's a lot of extra steps.
I also want to save as native resolution instead of saving smaller since then the resolution is lost for other purposes. I have a 2 TB hard drive now, not like I'm ever going to fill
that up. Looks like I have to read the apple manual online again.

and unfortunately there is no setting on the phone, they say to use a third party app. Ok...
I'm thinking 4 meg is where I want to be so folks can zoom in and still have clarity.

Turn on your camera.
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the VR180 app .
  2. Check that your phone is connected to your camera.
  3. Tap More Settings. Camera.
  4. Scroll down, and then choose the settings you want for Video resolution, Photo resolution, and Live resolution.

I also don’t like the Live Photo’s and keep that turned off. They are just short video files instead of a picture file. At my jpg setting, pics seem to run between 4-8 MByte which I find acceptable. I would hate to have to downsize before posting.

And after thirty years or more with Verizon they still charge me 40 bucks to turn on a new phone.
I ran into some of the same issues when migrating from the old SE to the new 12, Drew. I bought my phone on the Verizon website, so I didn't have to put up with a nincompoop behind the counter. But I couldn't even figure out how to turn the new one on at first! Lots of trips to google, sitting at the laptop with the new phone in front of me. And I'm still doing it, just not quite as often. The only consolation is that millions of other folks are having the same issues, and all the answers are out there already. Google, google, google.

For charging, I use the same Lightning cable I used with the old SE. The other end plugs into any old style USB port, but if you want fast charging, you do need to snag one of the USB3 charging cubes. Anker makes good ones that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Keep in mind that your old SE still has all of your data on it, and until you get it onto your new phone, it's the master copy. From that standpoint, the new phone is pretty much worthless, so if the data migration screws up, you haven't lost anything if you have to reset the new phone back to factory defaults and start over. Having said that, it's always a good idea to make a back of the old phone, whether it be on the hard drive of your PC using iTunes, or using Apple's iCloud servers if you have the bandwidth.

Verizon is no different than most other services/utilities/banks these days: Always looking for another way to get their hands into your pocket. If you live in an area that is well covered with cellular networks, there are tons of options available to you, like Nomad or SkyMobile that can halve your monthly fee. Again, google is your friend.

30 and windy, getting up to 47.

Got a long hike in before opening day. My team got rained out, but watched Yankees and Blue Jays. Found out that Dish just dropped regional sports networks, including MASN out of DC/Baltimore, who played all the Orioles and Nationals games. Spent some time chatting with Dish rep. I guess I'll have to find another source.

I pay &100 month for dish and my receiver is broke. I keep forgetting to call. Only reason I keep them is because my 2nd receiver still works, and dad uses it.
My son subscribed to MLB channel.

My Cardinals beat the Reds on opening day (we were in Cincy)!

Real opening day in STL (which is a holiday) is next Thursday.

Good luck to your guys this season. I’ll go for a Cardinals v Orioles World Series!! The Orioles began as the St. Louis Browns many years ago.

Morning all! 21 degrees and windy!
Right now outside work is cancelled till further notice.
Had the furnace at the apartment looked at yesterday, it appears that the water pressure reducer coming into the house has broken and is overfilling the burner so that the relief valve is tripping. Plumber is coming today to change that out.
It never ends!
Hope everyone is safe and healthy.
Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

31° sunny and breezy.

Arm was sore all night, getting better. Lack of sleep last night.

Have Dr appt this morning, the one that took 6 months to get after my last Dr retired. Not sure if I should fast, am getting very hungry.

Working a half day after the Dr. might set up what I need then go home and work on it remote. love using linux.

Dropped off some old motor oil at landfill recycling center yesterday. Was a landfill last time I was there over 20 yrs ago, now a transfer center. They truck the trash elsewhere. They have solar panels all over mount trashville now.
I have several more gallons to take that have collected in my shed. Now I have empty jugs to change oil in Subaru, it’s 2k overdue.

Better get moving.

Morning all, bit of a freeze last night, and a power outage. Seems another Ash tree fell through a wire up the block.
Peco got us back on line by 10pm, but ran the generator to keep the family happy from 4-9:30 or so.

Android phone here-when I run out of space for pictures, I just swap out a memory chip and go on my merry way.
I have an Iphone 10 for work, don;t like it much. Switching through cloud from old iphone7 was easy though.

have fun with the family PopG!

Roy-have used irfanview myself, works well. On my Android phone, emailing a picture to myself gives the option of resizing.

So much work to do this weekend, hopefully I'll feel well enough to do some of it.

Stay safe and be well

I do the same, since carrying the phone (Motorola Moto G7 using Android) is pretty convenient. I haven't used a "real" camera in quite a while, except one I bought for work...which stays in the office
I guess I should research the camera app on the phone...see if I can reduce the size since the pics are normally between 1.5 and 2.5 megabytes

The Motorola isn't a "great" phone and requires the battery to be replaced by a tech (not a home project), but it was cheap ($250) and reliable so far. I'm not about to spend upwards to a thousand for a cell phone

Good morning! 39˚F now, it did get down to 34.2˚F before sunrise, clear skies heading to the 70s.

Eric the bloodweed attracts vegan vampires as it's sap is close to the color of blood (but a tad more purple). I don't know the real name of the weed maybe some else in Texas can identify it by it's Latin name. It's broad leaf and grows up to 6'.

Drew, the gardens sit on top of a hill and and with no wind yesterday morning the temp was a few degrees warmer. No Freeze damage, Yea.

The Gardens are looking for ideas to spend their money in the 5 year plan. My suggestions were to raise the garden blocks (like I did to my garden) and to get an online weather station in the garden that everyone can access, but I guess that would require internet service so maybe we do not need to have that extra expense every month.

Got an e-mail from AT&T, I still have mom's phone on the account, They are sending me two (unknown) phones to replace the 3G phones that will not be compatible anymore. (wife's 5s and mom's flip phone) I only have mom's flip phone with them???? Even when I dumped them I still cannot get away from them I started to try to cancel one phone and it was turning into a fiasco so I just told them - whatever, as long as it does not cost me anything or change the contract. A month ago I was just trying to get a reduced price new phone and they refused after being with them for 20 years which made the half price phones at T_Mobile look very good. Even with two services I am spending $10 less than before with just AT&T. T_mobile still does not have good enough coverage in the county my mom lives.

Same here Roy, That's why I got the new Apple SE phones for my wife and I - with t-mobile's new service just $400 for both.

Yea - I’m a tad worried about him. Even with a huge lead he couldn’t go 5 and get the win. He didn’t have a great spring. But, like you say, it’s only the first game and it was chilly.

Not going to get above the mid-30's today and the "real feel" is quite a bit chillier.
Could bring the blade in the garage...but, I think tomorrow (upper 40's tomorrow) will be a more comfortable day.

The 4052R cab tractor with all the glass (much more then my 4520 with a Curtis cab) provides a lot more visibility when swapping out loader QA implements. Right now, I only have the bucket and blade...probably all I'll actually need. I haven't used the off-seat hitch assist yet, except for raising and lowering the 3PH...swapping out the snow blower for the chipper might be a good opportunity.
For those of you not familiar:

Obviously, they make this look simple, but aligning the tractor is the hardest part, and hitch assist doesn't help you in that part. But, as I'd written above, more glass equates to better visibility

30F and partly cloudy @ 09:45, headed up to a high of 41F for the day.

Soreness in shoulder from shot pretty much gone at this point. The Woman is due to get her second shot this coming Tuesday.

Saw Red-bellied woodpecker on the eave out the kitchen window as I was putting my coffee in micro a bit ago. The Pileated is drumming and has been very busy lately ... sounds like he's setting up shop hereabouts.

Snow from yesterday mostly gone at this point.

Amazon order due in today via UPS. After that arrives I may run down to Menards in Massillon and pick up last order.

Need to go through filing cabinet and pull paperwork from previous years and file that away in bankers boxes to make room for the current stuff.

Probably refill squirrel feeder this morning, after feeding fish.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)
