That is a one sweet press alright !!
I bought it from a car dealership shop that was closing. Paid a whopping $50. Did ya notice the brake lining riveter bolted to the side?

Mr. Ovrszd, pretty cool antique phone on the wall next to the press!
A Scrapper gave me two of them. I've got a wall mount phone booth out in the timber on a post. I put some solar lights in the top of it. When you drive by it at night the "phone" sign is lit. Also have an old Pepsi bottle and 7up bottle sitting in it. Get a lot of comments.

The one in the shop is Willard's private line. :sneaky:

Even cooler would be if Richard collects enough coin for beer
I don't have the key to open it. This particular phone was the last pay phone in the little town of Eagleville Missouri.

Does it strike you odd how quickly we lost public Pay Phones? The Techies say the more technology we get the faster we'll get more technology. Sure true about phones.

And is that a barber's chair on the left???
Yep. It's a Koken. I had two of them but lost one in my shop fire. This one is pretty rough. They were in the last Barber Shop on the square in Eagleville Missouri.

Ya know I bet you could find that on ebay or web search, or even find a drawing or photo that would allow you to make one of your own. I would guess this is one of those things where there were only a few different keys, like one for each brand of phone manufacturer and one key opens them all.

Brake pad riveter? Is that what that thing is. huh.

I can look at Richard's press a dozen ways .. each with admiration. (y) 20T, 30T or 50T the frame width is nice. Would easily do Ford axle bearings, etc. Did I hear there are two of them? That model is a bit 'Delux'. (btw, got old H-D with 'juice-drum' brakes/linings?)

I contacted Dake about the press. Gave them the serial number hoping to get the age. I got little response and non helpful. Was a bit surprised by that.

I keep various "tools" in a bucket by the press. Various shapes and sizes to use depending on the job at hand. It came with the blunt end on the ram. Friend of mine machined the wedge tip in the pic. The two blocks that lay across the beams are extremely handy. Using the wedge tip I can easily make 90 degree bends in flat bar.

Excuse my total lack of proper names for everything mentioned above....

Yes. I keep threatening to turn mine with the end closest to the wall. That would allow more versatility with large objects.

I'll get around to that one of these days.....

Just look at technology now as to say when we we say 10 yo and try to think how it changed every 10 years. Imagine being a 10 yo old now. We can image what will be their day to day tech come our age.

Often, I wonder if technology is consuming us, as much, or maybe even more than we are consuming technology.

The interesting question is whether life is actually getting "better" (whatever that may mean to the individual) with the more tech we use?
