What kind of vintage car do you wish you had?

The Charger was a 4 speed car, that is a fact. They did have one with an automatic to but the scenes inside the car were the 4 speed. You need to understand I have read every article I could find and have probably watched the car chase about 50 times from that movie. I am still learning though.

Maybe next we can debate which was quicker the Corvette or the Super Stock Dodge in The Beach Boys song Shut Down:)

Now that just ain't right. Those two shouldn't even be in the same town together, let alone the same picture.
Bench racing. Love it as long as nobody gets bent out of shape.

I absolutely loved the 1970-1973 'Cudas and Challengers. They also couldn't take a turn to save their lives. One of my best friends had an orang one orange Challenger R/T with the slap stick. My roommate had 1969 Z28. Those were great cars. One of the best ever made (and I wipe my butt with chevy toilet paper). The Camaro Z28 would handle like it was on rails but they ruined that in 1970. The Boss 302 was one of the best cars ever made. Period. If you ever get the chance to sit in one, take it. The Mach I was't too bad either. 351 Cleveland was a good engine that had a minor oiling problem. It died too young. My roommate on Base had a 1967 Corvette 427 Tri Power. It didn't pay any attention to curves, it straightened them out.

Sorry to ramble. Love old cars, just don't want one.

The 413 (or 426 wedge). No doubt. The 'Vette couldn't get the power to the ground. Liked the 'Sting Ray' body a lot, they ruined it with the 'Mako' body beginning in 1968.

That's about the time I started to lose interest in generic motors. The C3 was a pile of junk, IMO. Every last one of them. Every one. The new ones are becoming world class sports cars if gm could find someone to make an OHC engine for them.

You did well to walk away from anything with the Triumph name.
Lucas Electric says it all.
Why the British like warm beer....because Lucas made refrigerators too!
I've never owned a British car, what was it about Lucas electrical systems that made them so bad? Switches/sockets, etc. that were cheaply built and failed regularly? Everyone says they were horrible, but I've never heard any details.

Many many years ago I had a GF who had a VW bug, and the electrical system in that was pretty awful. The German wiring diagrams were kind of "challenging" to read/interpret too.

I owned three older Mopars. The yellow one was a 440 6 bbl, 4 speed, 4.10 Dana. Sold it about 20 years ago. I still like the older cars but they were a lot of work and it wasn’t fun anymore. I own a newer Challenger now, big effort on that car is nothing more than a wax job.

I would not even begin to know where to start about Lucas Electric.
Maybe an exaggeration,..... but headlights on and horn would blow kinda thing.
Anything, and every thing electrical, was BAD!

My first car was an Austin Healy 100-4, my girlfriend now wife of 50+years had a Triumph TR 3. We loved them but agreed when we got married at 20 yoa to buy something more dependable. Ought a Toyota corolla. Boy I wish we still had those two cars.

Still fascinated with the "6 pack" carb. How exactly did it work?
Is that an electric motor that opens cowl induction????

At my advanced age, if I should ever get weak in the knees for a British piece of machinery, it would only be for a red Austin Healey 3000.
