massey ferguson 54 50A serial number

hello everyone, i search your forums to find my serial number info on my own but i was not able to.
i bought a massey ferguson and i am trying to figure out the year, the previous owner said it is a 50A, but the tag said 54.
if you can help me understand what it is so i can search for proper parts. thanks

54 is the hoe. 54, 54s and I believe 32 are the different hoe models they had put on massey 40 and 50 tractors.

If I remember right it was either by the air cleaner or on the side of the tranny. Drivers side sticks out in my head

I think the only thing that really changed on the 50a that's serial dependant is the power steering pump has 2 versions, Chrome vs iron cylinder liners, and direct vs indirect injectors/head.
