That’s like when there’s a suicidal jumper on the edge of a building and police don’t want him jumping into traffic so they shoot him down.

Smaller pieces will burn up in the atmosphere before reaching the Earth. Left intact, it may not; instead leaving a big hole someplace on impact. It's not rocket science...

Well, I’d prefer the CCP did it, but if left no choice and people could die from being crushed to death, it could be a good idea.
Maybe a giant space station laser could be used?

I think the statement "the Chinese #LongMarch5B re-entered over the Arabian Peninsula at approximately 10:15 p.m. EDT on May 8" means it re-entered the earth's atmosphere, which is not the same as landing!
