I was wondering how the Feds and States were going to replace gas tax revenues.

They are way ahead of me.

Never let a good excuse for more fees go to waste. In the end, they will be higher than gas taxes. Fees and costs never go down. I remember when my long distance phone bill was under $10 a month, now the federal fee is that much if I don’t make a single call.

Too bad you don't have cell service.

That sucks. This may have been covered before, but is your internet service good enough to support VOIP?

Cell phone lines are way less expensive now compared to when we were kids if you made any long distance calls over land lines.

I remember grandma and grandpa calling at Christmas and the parents would hand you the phone "Make it quick! This call is expensive!".

Hi Grandma, Merry Christmas

"OK! GIVE IT TO YOUR SISTER!"

1 phone call could be $10-15 bucks easy.

No question.

Someone famous once said something like the only things that are certain are death and taxes.

This whole tesla fire in Texas has me baffled. They say it happened 550 feet from house. My driveway Is that long. How could you get in that bad of an accident in that short of distance. Must have been showing off. That car burnt into nearly nothing.
You are right. The street was Hammock Dunes Place in Woodlands TX. You can look it up , it's a short cut-de-sac with million dollar homes. Firefighters reported: "There is a big lake, and (the accident) was just to the left of the lake, closer to the exiting part of the street, not the end of the cul de sac. It was at an undeveloped lot."

Here is more information about the fire from the firefighters who put it out:

“With respect to the fire fight, unfortunately, those rumors grew way out of control. It did not take us four hours to put out the blaze. Our guys got there and put down the fire within two to three minutes, enough to see the vehicle had occupants. After that, it was simply cooling the car as the batteries continued to have a chain reaction due to damage.
“We could not tear it apart or move it around to get ‘final extinguishment’ because the fact that we had two bodies in there and it was then an investigation-slash-crime scene. We had to keep it cool, were on scene for four hours, but we were simply pouring a little bit of water on it. It was not because flames were coming out. It was a reaction in the battery pan. It was not an active fire,” Buck said.

I have cell service, it keeps going up also. Yrs ago I had a $30 unlimited plan, then they discontinued the plan, throttled people down to force them off the plan. Now I pay over $50 for a limited plan. But cell service sucks at the house so we keep a landline thats awful expensive.

My dad can’t understand me well if I call on my cell phone. I have to call him on the landline. He’s the main reason I keep it, that and weak cell signal at the house. I did install a weboost that has helped some, but need to be upstairs.
My house is between 2 hills, and the towers are on either side.
