Strange you should refer to Texas in the summer - Beeenvenue. I think it was 1972. Lived in Anchorage. Flew to a week long meeting around mid-July in Houston. Summer temps in Anchorage might, on rare occasions, reach a high of 76 with about 25% humidity.
HOLY CARP. It was upper 90's and around 100% humidity that entire week. I thought, for sure, I was gonna die dude, die. Honest to God - I DO NOT see how folks can tolerate that type of weather.
My friend and I said - to HELL with this meeting in Houston. Drove to Galveston - stayed with friends. At least there, they will have a breeze coming off the gulf. Mighty fine sea food also.
