You're absolutely right! I got mixed up between the Boomer 41 (with the Shibaura engine) and the Boomer 45 (with the LS Mitron L3C19-T engine(my tractor), this happens more than I'd like to admit)
That might change things, and I would hate that regen cycle. However, your tractor would probably still turn into a brick if you bypass that filter and do nothing to the ECU. That said, I am not too familiar with that engine. Hopefully someone can guide you better than I.
Still interested though.
I have no idea how the regen works on that model but my MF1835M is a gen 5 and the regen is about every 50 hours and not noticeable. One thing I do is run it at high rpms pretty much all the time. A tech gave me this advice because it keeps the exhaust hot and lessens the need for an early regen. I'm not sure it this is true, since I have no prior experience with this motor to base that on. I just know the regen is essentially unnoticeable other than a light that occasionally comes on. Maybe the high rpms are helping, maybe not. I just roll with what works. lol

When you have 40 hp on tap and regularly use bearely half of it... Instead of wet-stacking the DPF loads up and triggers a regen.

So the mystery is solved. Went to NH dealer, they let me talk to a mechanic. After listening to my story he said “ sounds like a fuel problem to me”. I didn’t know when fuel filters were last changed. When I changed the secondary filter I found it had water in bottom, there is also a sensor there that talks to the CPU. After changing both filters everything is back to normal. Just thought I’d let you know what I found. Chris

New problem, Massey Ferguson 231 steering cylinders leaking. Tried reseal kit, no success. What is the secret? Where is the best place to just get new ones? Thanks,Chris
