They had electric vehicles over 100 years ago. Nothing new there.

When I was a kid, in the 60s and 70s, there was an older neighborhood full of Victorian houses. One of them was painted pink. Bright pink. It had a glass garage. Inside that garage, was an electric car from 1911. My dad pointed it out often.

Sadly, the house is no longer pink. Still there, though, and in great condition, but not pink and no car.

Lordstown motors Is likely to fail.

They just announced there is not enough $$ to go into production even though they have $578 million in cash but are carrying 260 million in debt.

This following the announcement two weeks ago they were dropping their vehicle production forecast to 1000 vehicles this year.

Lordstown motors Is likely to fail.

A lot of these EV startups are going to fail although that's often how bleeding edge tech startups tend to go. Lordstown seems like it may be extra shady IMO: Don’t trust that SPAC deck – TechCrunch

It reminds me of the personal computing era of the '80s and the 90s. IBM then sold their personal computing lines to China and the others outsourced to China. While China is expected to win a lion's share of the EV $$$ hopefully they build many in the USA like they do their tractors
