Seems to have stabilized and/or falling on some items. Plenty of stock, no empty shelves or shortages.

Eggs and milk are sporadic, one day $1.50/dzn, the next day .99 or less. Milk is anywhere from .99/gallon sometimes at Aldis to over $3.50 at some stores.

Got whole wheat bread today for .25/loaf. Yeah it was 'close dated' today, but even the regular price was about .75

Cheese is nuts and I like cheese, so I either get it on sale or I don't get it. Fruit and veggie prices are back to normal with the market crops coming in.

Pork and chicken are back to reasonable, beef too for the most part. Chicken tenders under $2/lb, ground beef about the same, maybe a little higher.

'Course I buy mostly generic/store brand stuff, rarely top brand names.

Beef prices keep on climbing, not seen any real deals either. Chicken leveled off. Pork increases slightly over it's ridiculous prices now. And pork use to be the CHEAP white meat. China came in a bought much of that up right after the swine flu and C19 flu events. Pork will take nearly 10 years to recover.

A few years back Nebraska flood killed more than 1-million cattle. This year it's the worse drought like 1988. Try to find any good hay ! Meat prices sort of stabilizing, but I would not bet for long.

As for grains and veggies, it's like harvest seasons in South America are nearing an end and the last big push is arriving in our stores. So, July and August would be the crunch time on these. The drought out west is a hurtful event. However, in states further south and TN, they are sooooo wet that crops are water logged.

Been checking grocery store prices? No. HECK NO. lol

My wife buys whatever fancy organic groceries she wants, and I do not question the cost. Weekly trips to our boutique local markets combined with local farm co-op purchases for meat and dairy probably have my family of 4 close to, if not over $1k/mo at this point. We do not bargain shop for food, the most important thing you put into your body.

Certainly not judging anyone else's shopping habits, but if you have the means, please shop local and buy quality. Better for you, and the earth.

Walked by the clearance bin at Lowe's yesterday. It was full of hand sanitizer.

Our money is becoming more and more worthless as we pay people not to work, pay them to try and get them to work, and pay back trillions of printed money loans back to countries who use it to make aircraft carriers, Mars rockets, moon explorers, boomer submarines and contagious viruses.

Any other obvious questions need answering ?

My wife tracks this, looks like we spend about 50% more than pre-covid for the same stuff.
I have seen some prices at least up 50% in the last year by us for eggs, milk and other goods.
Only thing coming down is paper goods, and not by much.

We are not paying back any printed money loans to anyone. They are giving us more and more and more of their printed paper money for more and more and more of our printed paper bonds. They are financing our aircraft carriers, moon rockets, submarines, Medicare and social security.

Where are finding whole wheat bread for 75¢ a loaf? Haven't seen it that cheap in decades.
Haven't noticed beef prices to be that much higher than a year or so ago, but I am seeing chicken on sale for prices higher than "regular" price a year ago.
