Lincoln says they're going all EV by 2030 with hands-free driving coming much sooner. What's interesting is they had planned to use the Rivian platform but that's been scrapped even though Ford invested half a billion in Rivian a couple years ago. Makes you wonder if Rivian is maybe having troubles and Ford couldn't wait, or maybe Tesla's lawsuit against Rivian for IP theft has them worried.

Or, perhaps, Ford understands what happens to the stock price if they claim electric vehicle success by a certain date.

By 2030 most stock options will be exercised and sold.

Was Bloomberg listening to a different news release? I'm confused...

Wow , Anyone really think oil will go over a hundred again?
Projections I saw said over the summer oil will continue to rise with a crude price drop going into fall and winter as supply ramps up.

I was thinking of reasons why I want an electric car and one i have not seen mentioned much.

It is having to work on oily greasy old cars...

Wife inherited a 1974 Mercedes 280 C gas engine 2 door coupe. and having sat for at least 12 years it is being kind of a ----- to get running and driving.

I have been going thru the now expensive nitrile gloves like crazy because of the grime and still getting crude,,, I mean crud:) all over me. I think it would be nice to get under a vehicle and replace worn parts without getting covered in old oil...not to mention that old gasoline that needs cleaned out from tank, antifreeze due to a stuck thermostat, fuel system, carb rebuilding , and stuck brakes.

Have to wonder what it will be like fixing up a classic electric car in 40-50 years?

ps. Have to take a 200 mile road trip tomorrow and we will be driving our very best MPG vehicle -

the RAM 3500 4 wheel drive Cummins diesel powered truck.

No joke. it gets about 8 MPG better than the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Where crude hits $100 remains to be seen.

EV's if ever are decades away from moving all gas and diesel ⛽ to museums.

There is no credible scientific data supporting global warming is a man-made issue to any significant degree at best. Claims that EVS will substantially reduce global warming is no proven fact.

Tesla is selling every EV that they can push out of the factories with zero rebates etc. Most likely they will hit the 1 million mark this year of 2021 which is a drop in the bucket of the millions of cars new cars sold each year. Where Tesla will meet the 20 million cars per year manufacturing goal by 2030 remains to be seen.

EVs will rule the world only after cost of ownership is less than ICE vehicles.

Better watch what you’re saying. Outrageous statements like that can get you cancelled or a butt kickin at the local Starbucks.
