Is there any reason I can’t or shouldn’t convert the 3pt mount on my woods RD6000 to look and function like the 3pt mount on my JD mx6 bush hog so it is easy to hook up the quick hitch? Or is there a better way to make it quick hitch compatible. I have enough steel laying around and have a hydraulic brake and drill press so it doesn’t look like it would take much to build this.

It a simple task of fabrication to make non compatible implements compatible to QH.... All that is required is a bit of determination and proper tools to do it....

There is really no con if you are deep into QH usage.... But the will be some the claim the QH will make it more difficult to connect/disconnect PTO shaft... And maybe issues with length of PTO shaft...

I think the two bars going to the rear at a 45 degree angle need to either have a hinge installed, or replace them with chain.

I did a quick hitch upgrade to that mower, then I changed to Pats connection,
I prefer Pats,, now.

The Pats system does a nice job of carrying chain!! (LOL!!)

just out of curiosity, how many go to the trouble of hooking up the top link on a woods type mower?

i have ran a woods rear finish mower for 25 years and never once hooked up the top link. same with a 10 ft bush hog. just never had a reason to hook it.

No top link, but I do have a chain from the top link pin on mower to the qh hook.I’d take a pic but just unhooked mower an hour ago.

This looks like the way to go, but I’m going to have to figure out where everything mounts, I think I need roughly 15” from center of lift arm pins to center of top link pin.
the vertical spacing on the holes of my part number 5 is 21”.
