Andersen went bankrupt.
SOX was enacted.

the Enron fallout was massive.
MoKelly

I can't frankly speak on this, my ex was an executive for Anderson at the time.

You are correct it is and the fallout wasn't only the employees. But in some circumstances generational wealth and companies.

Many years ago I was in a business with mostly credit transactions. An old hand advised me, "Don't give nobody no credit if their profession starts with a P. Politician, Pulpwooder, Preacher, etc. The Politician thinks you owe him, the Pulpwood guy is impossible to find, the Preacher wants a donation, and so on."

If the story is true and you are unable to pay due to illness, you should start a Go Fund Me page and explain the situation. you may raise the funds to pay off the tractor. Your initial post said you had hard times due to COVID but you followed it up with a surgery story. If you do start a God Fund Me and you do not tell the truthe you will be committing the crime of Wire fraud, among others.

I don't think there is any way to do that.
I would start with asking for documentation on the original purchase and complete payment history. Anyone on the up and up would gladly provide this. Anyone hedging should see your taillights.

What is the worst case scenario if Kubota is not able to repo?
Hard times
COVID-19
i know this doesnt really answer your ?? but if you have anything to sell that would help you make your payments i could help you out and buy some items from you. of coarse you would have to let me make payments and trust me to do so.you would have to trust that im not some jackass thief that beats people out of moneys owed

That's my point. It's a shame but, you can't trust every seller. If the seller is the second owner, there could be a lien on the tractor and the seller doesn't even know it.

End of the day, there is no way to confirm that a tractor is free and clear. Even a new tractor!

A guy bought a brand new JD, the dealer never paid his bills, tractor got repoed.

If you search the internet there are lots of stories of folks who bought from an " up and up" seller, only to have it repoed.

No titles, no property tax.

Tractor ownership would be a perfect application for the Block Chain!

You should be able to do a lien search thru the Secretary Of State in the state. That is probably the best you can do if you think the owner is not telling the truth when you ask.

MoKelly
The lawyer told me you would have to do a lien search in every county in every state with every possible version of the owners name you could think of.

John Doe

John A Doe

John B Doe

J. Doe

Etc etc etc

When it comes to legal stuff.....there is the way you think it should be and, to use a legal term......

it is what it is........pay me.
