Komatsu Dozer wont start

As a side note: one time my dozer wasn't running right and I changed the fuel filters, it didn't help. Then I found a "small" screen "in" the pump at "inlet" of it! I took it out and it looked clean, BUT I washed/brushed it good, blew it out with air pressure, reinstalled it and the dozer has run fine ever since!

6 months later, nothing has changed...

3 manual primer pumps later and still they die after about 5 minutes. I am going to try to blow air back from the fuel filter housing all the way to the tank again. It would be so much easier if the fuel tank could be pulled off and cleaned

we finally had a few days to focus on it and after rebuilding the pump that the primer was on, replacing a collapsed fuel line, and fully charged batteries it fired up and ran!

father in law then had the bright idea to fill the fuel tank and add some cleaner stuff to it. Now I’m changing fuel filters about every 10 minutes. Gotta be a better way to flush out that tank and get rid of the crap than $22 filters every 10 minutes

Using old furnace fuel is good for the fuel components, but bad for the environment. Older furnace fuel is not the same as off-road diesel. It likely had a sulfur content of over 2,000 ppm, or if not so old, 500 ppm (LSD). Sulfur is a key lubricating component of diesel fuel. Any fuel you get nowadays is going to be ~15 ppm (ULSD) whether on or off road. And as you suggest, you can't get your fuel clean enough.

Sulfur in diesel fuel is not a lubricating agent. The process of taking the sulfur out of fuels results in reduced lubricity for the low sulfur fuel.

Good news! Kinda. Didn't anyone tell you to remove and pressure wash the inside of the tank? Those diesel bugs will live and die almost as fast as you change the filters. Instead of Red-Green hick "cleaner stuff" you need to treat the cleaned and dried tank with a BIOCIDE! And treat at least two subsequent fill ups.

I really don care what the "world " thinks". And my second statement does not contradict the first sentence. I suggest you re-read my initial statement and think about what I said.

Sulfur is a fuel contaminant, not a lubricant. Removing the sulfur causes the resultant "fuel" to have lower lubricity as well as a reduced energy content (i.e. it reduces the LHV). Lubricity additives can correct the lubricity but the LHV is lowered by approximately 0.5% so the BSFC of the engine is increased by approximately 0.5%

No, I was an aircraft propulsion engineer for 35 years and have some experience with petroleum based fuels. I am not speculating, these are facts.
It's still a free country and you are entitled to your opinion... but not your own facts.
