Don, important you put something under the cantaloupe, even a small paper plate and the you may need to spray regularly
with Neem oil, OMRI rated, which is what I use on all my plants. Current infestation is Japanese beetles. I have to contact soak them but
they seem to go away.

picked one of last batches of snow peas. They are getting a little tough in the high heat despite my constant watering.

Rick, that is one cool tool. Like having hex keys with nice handles. There usually is a better way.
And no horsepower needed, just a good idea. I know you have nice cabinets for all this stuff, that part I sure miss.
But I'm only buying tools now when I need them. Makita shrub clipper due in later this morning.

I bought so much stuff on Amazon even before the farm I bought stock in it, and it's up 350 percent.
Wonder if that applies to Makita...

Lawn, garden and tractor market up 50 percent this year over last year. Supply almost exhausted. Price of steel a big issue
but I'm sure logistics is too.

got invited to dinner with a swim earlier at friend's home, really think that pool will feel mighty fine with a 107 heat index outside.
Like where you don't want to come out...unless the water gets too warm. I'd rather have it be at least a little cool.
I will take and enjoy whatever I get. Think he said it was at 87 now. That sounds warm to me. I think I'm a 75 guy.
Hey your pool was too hot and your steak was tough as shoe leather and you need to weed that one garden.
See you soon....
These are the folks I'm taking the lobster to on July 4th.

Morning all, already hot at 7am

Bird, fence looks great and congrats on the new phone.

At one time I got really good at picking bolts and threads by sight, but now my sight isn't so good. :-(

Hot today, day job busy. Need to clean up chain saw and drop roller on flail back to 3" cut.

Stay safe and be well

Newport News is still Patrick Henry, but Friendship Field became BWI in the early 70’s if my memory still functions.
Yep...now it's Thurgood Marshall, but most folks still call it BWI

73°F and clear skies again this morning, going up to 88° today with a chance for more storms this afternoon.

While I was in the barn mixing the new chicken feed yesterday evening, The Wife asked me to check on her canopies behind the barn. She had apparently left them up over the weekend, and one of them was twisted and broken from the intense winds. It's in the scrap pile now. The other survived intact, oddly, with no damage whatsoever.

Nice pictures, gents.

Drew thanks for the paper plate suggestion.
Perfect pool water temp for me is 83˚F. I have been know to throw bags of ice in the pool when it gets above 90.

Just got in from about 2 hours of outside work. Soaking wet from sweating. Looks like grass mowing will have to wait until it cools off back into the 70’s. Maybe Thursday or Friday.

News this morning of the first big wildfire of the season, the Lava Fire burning northeast of Weed, CA. High temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds fanned the flames yesterday to more than 13,000 acres, with just 20% containment.

68°F and .05 inches rain
Need a PO run this morning. Take all the TV packing to the dump, sure is enough of it. I’ll stash the large cardboard for a future use.
Then it’s back to my slo mow.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

It's 4" but no extra battery or 2nd chain.
I need to research the Amp Hour rating on the batteries for a good comparison. I will need it to cut during a 2 hour work session. (about 1 hour of run time.). I'm in no hurry, we are on summer break for 2 months.

The one I ordered has two batteries and two chains as well as the needed tools and gloves.

FedEx dropped the billboard tarp off this morning, and I just finished rolling it out on the firewood pile. Had to completely unfold it, then fold the long sides into the middle and roll it again in order to get it on the long pile, but I eventually got it done. At 14' x 40', there was more than enough to cover. Sure wish they'd rolled that way to begin with, though. Would'a saved me sweating through another shirt.

Came back inside to cool off, and there was a coupon code for a Buy Any Tarp, Get Another for 50% Off email waiting for me. They're definitely thicker than the typical HF blue tarps, but not as thick as the 25' x 40' silver tarp I got from TarpsNow.com back in 2019. That one is still on my last wooden pallet, and shows no sign of breaking down. It also cost $180, where this billboard tarp was only $110 including shipping. The billboard tarp seems to be coated with something stretchy, in addition to all the printing on one side. I put the black side out so I wouldn't have to look at the ad for Venice Beach real estate. We'll see how it does through the rest of the summer. I piled good sized rocks on the tails of the tarp at the base of the wood stack, so I'll get to see how it does in the wind, too.

I looked at the Stihl but it was 6” and she wanted the smallest lightest one we could get. Plus the Stihl + battery and charger extra was about triple the price. A lot for something that might not get used twice.
Biggest thing though was the size.
Looks interesting, Randy, might be just the thing for trimming twigs and such off larger wood. But since Makita hasn't jumped on the mini chainsaw bandwagon yet, I'll wait...🤭

There is a copy Makita one. Gives it away by saying there is an adaptor for Makita battery. LOL

Then this is the same one but they have the cheek to put the Makita name on it.
But read the description. They describe it as a picture that can be hung on the wall. ??? It is a metal poster!!
Sneaky liars but what can you expect from people like that.
