I think it might be because the biggest battery manufacturers are Chinese companies.
As with all the other manufacturing sectors in America destroyed by Chinese competition, the battery sector is owned by them and will continue to be until we get leadership in this country that is manufacturing friendly.

Tony Seba Strikes Again

I do understand some old tractor owners are planning to die without ever owning an EV but that is not the case for our kids grandkids great grandkids who most all will own an EV so one of my interest in knowing what's coming down the pike is so I can work with our 24-year-old kids.

It is good to see Ford willing to take the steps to downsize before they're forced to do so. The big question in my mind is how are they going to get rid of 90% of their dealerships needed to thrive.

You can encounter the same situation in a gas operated vehicle, travelling in unfamiliar terrain; we've just learned to adapt.

No better here (than USA); arguably worse.

The rest of the G7 could learn a lot from Germany. Not perfect, but they at least put major/sustained/meaningful effort/structure/$ into retaining manufacturing domestically.

I was in Jackman Maine three years ago where snowmobiles and skidders outnumber the sedans. They had 4 charging ports there. It's also the gateway to Canada from here.

Considering how backwoods I suspect you are..... that's a pretty good datapoint for how EV is progressing.

Granted, MI obviously pays more attention to automotive issues than some States, but still, it's a good sign.

I hate those noisy snowmobiles. Would be nice to have a electric one that would putz around at 35 mph and last 4-5 hrs on a charge.
