We read about these manure pit accidents almost annually.

I've never heard of this before. Sounds similar to industrial confined space deaths when someone gets engulfed and others come to their aid only to succomb themselves. What a tragic blow to that family.

Born in a small city so I am ignorant of the manure/fertilizer process and how this could've happened. Could someone explain the process for us who have no clue?
