I have Optus and Ipstar. It is the same on both. Also it is on all laptops,pcs and tablets so it has to be in the account settings but the silly thing is, I have never changed anything in there. Anyway I will know in a months time if I ticked the right boxes. Lol. It's only since they updated the website.

This NSW covid is horrendous. Hope it stays out of the other States and they get it under control.

Never on TBN. Sometimes when registering on a new site. A "code" is sent to my cell phone. But that's only for first time registration.

I've only seen that on financial sites (IRA administrator, etc.), never on TBN. If I close my browser (Chrome) it "forgets" I was logged in here, but that's OK...most of the time I visit I just lurk anyway.

I use two factor on all my financial logins. Never have I even seen it as an option here.

IMO...With a few exceptions like with banks, credit card companies and possibly some merchants etc...there is no reason to give any web site a telephone #...it's just asking for spam and robocalls...!

Gmail now requires you to give a CELL # in order to set up an email account. I don't know why...they give some lame reason "so we know you are who you say you are" I don't know how it knows, but they won't accept a landline #. No cellphone, no email. No dice.
Some sort of crackdown on "burner" email addresses?
