2015 New Holland Boomer 33
Hello, first post. I have a 2015 New Holland Boomer 33. Yesterday, I washed off the outside and engine bay with water. When I went to start it, I turned the key and the lights came on. When I tried to start it, it did some clicking and all the lights went out. Since then, it's totally dead as far as lights and starting. No noises at all when I turn the key to on or start. I know the battery is good (12.8 volts). I've checked every fuse I could find, still nothing. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you. Craig

The fuses I found/checked were a 100 amp fuse at the battery, 2 60 amp fuses near the starter, and the fuse box under the left steering column panel. Thank you.

Welcome to TBN! I would be looking closely at the key switch. Check to see if you have voltage there. If you do, then check power out.

The other common issue is with ground connections. But you will need a test light or volt meter to find the issue. I prefer a test light.

Thanks K5lwq, I'll do that. I have a multimeter, so I'll head down that road.

Start with easy first. Check voltage at the battery. Put the positive lead on the battery and negative on the frame. It should read the same as if you put the negative on the battery. If not you have a ground problem. Then keep working towards the switch checking voltage. Follow electric flow from beginning till you find the problem or from the problem back to the power source.

The problem with meters is they may read voltage but a bad connection can't carry current. That is why I like a light.

Also test battery WHILE trying to start tractor. See if power takes a nose dive.

I got it fixed! It was the main ground coming off the negative terminal. I learned that by checking another ground 12" away and it only had 5 volts. Took out the main ground bolt, cleaned it up, and screwed it back in. Dash lit up and it fired right up. I can't thank you enough!

grsthegreat, thank you for your response as well.
