Most of the newer vehicles have a drl that shuts down on the side that the turn signal is flashing. That's how our newest vehicle is.

Yes, the lack of any towing capacity has been a big problem for many potential EV buyers, small trailers is incredibly common here in Norway.View attachment 709834

Will a horse ride in that?

I Think you hook it up to "The horse you rode in on"

That's just common sense. If you turn on the turn signal too early, you lose the element of surprise! ;)
My attitude was always, "If people need to know which direction I'm driving, I'll let them know." If I'm in a left turn only lane, I'm going to turn left. Figure it out. Then I found out that not using my turn signals upset people, so now I leave them on all the time.

Ah yes, the old decoy turn signal. Is that guy really trying to get into the left lane, or is the turn signal left over from when he merged onto the freeway ten miles ago?

Hey, when you're following someone for a couple minutes, and decide it's time to pass, and you signal, look in your mirror, look over your left shoulder, pull out and pass, and you get right up next to them, then just ahead of them, and just as you signal and start to come back in, they accelerate to prevent you from passing.

Well just keep on going in. They'll either back off or you'll hit em. Don't worry, it'll be their fault. Sure, you might get some car damage or killed or kill them, or their kids, but you'll be in the right, and that's what's most important.

Most states have something like this in their code:

"and shall not increase the speed of his vehicle until completely passed by the overtaking vehicle."

So, you're in the right. Tell St. Pete that at the pearly gates for bonus points. You'll get in faster. ;)
That goes both ways. It happens too often; somebody is just poking along and you need to be somewhere; so when a safe opportunity arises, pull out to pass. Except they decide to step on the gas; so you're beside them doing 70 and running out of space. Yet if you back off and pull in, they'll drop back down to 40.

My sister's ex BF kiiled an innocent motorist that way, and he lost both legs. Somebody tried to pass him so he sped up. Eventually they met an oncoming car. When the other guy pulled in he clipped Jeff's fender, who went spinning out of control into the other lane.

If somebody's trying to pass you, don't try to stop them. Just let them by, it's not the end of the world. You may even be right if you think they're driving too fast yet if you don't have blue lights, a badge, and a siren it isn't your place to slow them down. Besides, if they're going to crash wouldn't you prefer that it isn't when they're right beside you?

"Each DRL not optically combined with a turn signal lamp must be located on the vehicle so that the distance from its lighted edge to the optical center of the nearest turn signal lamp is not less than 100 mm..."

That means the edge of the turn signal can't be less than about 4" from the center of the DRL. So the turn signal can actually be touching the DRL if the DRL is wide.
You got one or the other inverted.

Center of the signal must be 100mm from edge of DRL. Doesn't matter how large the DRL, the signal must be separated.

Yep. I always let people pass me if they want to. I expect the same courtesy from others, but, hey, you know how that goes. So if they don't let me in by speeding up, I back off and move back in behind them. Then they slow down again, I try to pass again, they do it again, I back off again. Third time, I pull behind them, back off and call the cops and give them a description of the car and license number. ;)
