Got started logging the hemlock stand in our back 40.
Hasn't been cut in the last 60 years at least so it is very dense with tall trees.
We will probably be at it for a few months at the rate we work.

Do use and mill that your self or does it go to Canopy or ...??. How do you manage your trucking ?

If you can it is well worth it. Especially for a guy like you that likes trees. I remember the first time I went out to WA after my daughter moved out there for the FS in Marblemount.

Years ago when I was doing contract work I was talking to somebody about going out there to work. The only thing which stopped me was their hills. I like walking on flat ground.

What’s wrong with steep ground it makes life interesting and if it wasn’t there you can bet all the big stuff would be gone already.

Someday I will have a band mill when they are available with less than a 6 -9 month wait.
So, logs are going either a mill in Pittsford or Canopy.
I have been using the same guy to truck my logs for 25 years.
