I’ve been around tractors for a good while but this is really confusing to me. I must be missing something. I purchased a 7 foot finishing mower for my tractor and the top link is too high on my tractor or the floating top link on the mower is too low. I purchased an 18 inch top link at HF just to see if that would fix the problem because mine was too long. Now the top link bangs up against the driveshaft which will not work. See photos and any advice will be appreciated.

Is it possible to bolt the rear of the long arms to the hole in the rear of the bracket on the back of the deck? It looks there are two bolt holes n that bracket. If so, I think it would tilt everything to the rear and have the affect of giving you more space at the pto shaft.

When does the top link hit the driveshaft?

I’ll see if that will work, thank you!

Have some bar stock that you could use to raise that mounting point?

Or, since that flex hitch can swivel 360*, maybe have it up instead of down? As long as it can still pivot with the dips and lift the mower when needed.

Loosen off your top link bracket on the mover and rotate it up, looks like it was moved down for shipping reasons.

Edit: the top link is usually like this, not inside the triangle.View attachment 710664

As it is, it won’t pick up the back of the mower and I can’t risk damaging my pto from torque of the pto shaft. I didn’t know you could run the floating hitch in the up position, thanks for the heads up. I’m trying that too.

Also, do you have a lower top link mounting hole on the tractor? If you do, use that one.
