Then it must be true
Not necessarily, but then again, solitary man, not the intention of your post, either. However, when we host the end of the year work party at our house with all the union members there, I get a good taste of what they have to say. Obviously, I dont know every union member in the country, but I do know a few dozen, and most of them dislike their union leadership. Unions are well known to be riddled with corruption and linked directly to government.
Its not a healthy relationship.

I personally dislike Union leadership as well; which is what prompted me to acquire an International Agreement that makes me a free agent to work anywhere in the country. I've never been to any local that they didn't hate my guts because I wasn't one of them. Came close to being thrown off the pier at Atlantic City, but the four guys the union boss sent weren't enough. Up until just a few years ago the Carpenter's Union was run by the NYC mob... Now Vinny Bagadonuts has to be very careful. Yes, Union leadership sucks and is crooked, but where else does a guy learn a solid blue collar trade and make a $150 grand a year with good bennies?

I do know that Steppenwolfe indeeds owns a commercial contractor business that hires union tradesmen. I take it that they do quality work and everyone makes money and the customers must be happy or they'd be out of business.

We don't see eye to eye on all subjects (he's wrong, I'm right ;)) but he does know his stuff.
I thought I was right, and you were wrong... Anyway, we're just two sides to the same coin... (y) ;)

I guess it all depends on what price you’ll sell your soul for money.
I don’t talk tough, but I’m tough enough to cut it on my own, without a bunch of crooks speaking for me and giving me bennies so I’ll vote for them.

I put no price on my freedom and let no man speak for me, even when he offers me money.

Yeah that wealth redistribution sucks! Who needs economic balancing, a 401k, holidays, or sick leave? Bring back the slaves and we can starve em to death to make more profits!

Down with unions blah blah blah evil blah.

Oh wait, we make junkies to enslave and redistribute wealth now instead. Nobody cares when they drop dead and we can always make more!

I bet many employees in “right to work” states may surprise you with their opinions. Great jobs, benefits, insurance, and no union corruption needed!
Unions are dying off. At one time, they were needed to correct abuses. In today’s world, we are pretty confident abuses to employees will be exposed and dealt with. Governments regulate safety in the workplace and minimum wages. Child labor ended almost 100 years ago. Women, men and all people are treated equally or it’s dealt with immediately
We don’t need corrupt union leadership in kahootz with corrupt government relationships anymore.

I worked 37 years at same company, the first 25 years as Union, last 12 in salaried position. When I started there, the Union was all about negotiating the best contract for our members. I would say that over the next 15 to 20 years their focus gradually shifted to political activism for a single party that most of my coworkers and I did not support. So speaking from my real life experience, "yes it must be true".

Child labor ended? You work on a farm?

Don’t know what you’re insinuating. I’m a commercial farmer, not a family farmer. The family farm is dead in my area. I farm property I own and rent. I own 2 companies and corporations. I follow any/all regulations set forth for all my employees. I see no abuses of employees anywhere in my area, be it industry, service or agriculture. Interestingly, I just interviewed a potential employee who was a carpenters union member.

You true to life experience you just shared so eloquently is a direct reflection of what many people including myself hear all too often.
