New to the forum- New to tractors- Was mowing my lawn and this happened. Looks like the one piece threads into the other that is attached to the wheel. Do i remove and thread, then re-attach to tire?
Thank you, appreciate it. My question is this- SOMETHING has to rotate to thread the two pieces together. Do i take off the piece that is currently on the wheel? There is a bolt with a piece of metal on it that i suspect is there so it doesn't unthread. otherwise, I have no idea how to re-thread the two together. I can send more pics. Thanks. That is your tie rod adjuster. If you can straighten the wheel you should be able to start it again and just tighten it up. It may be easier with the front wheels off the ground. If you have a loader on you should be able to lift the front up then use blocks under the tractor to make it safe.
That Adjuster sets the toe-in for the front wheels. You adjust it so that it is a little bit narrower in the front of the tire than the back. Your owners manual should tell you the proper measurements.
Once you have it set correctly, tighten that nut up against the tie rod end to keep it from happening again.
