New to the forum- New to tractors- Was mowing my lawn and this happened. Looks like the one piece threads into the other that is attached to the wheel. Do i remove and thread, then re-attach to tire?

That is your tie rod adjuster. If you can straighten the wheel you should be able to start it again and just tighten it up. It may be easier with the front wheels off the ground. If you have a loader on you should be able to lift the front up then use blocks under the tractor to make it safe.
That Adjuster sets the toe-in for the front wheels. You adjust it so that it is a little bit narrower in the front of the tire than the back. Your owners manual should tell you the proper measurements.
Once you have it set correctly, tighten that nut up against the tie rod end to keep it from happening again.

Thank you, appreciate it. My question is this- SOMETHING has to rotate to thread the two pieces together. Do i take off the piece that is currently on the wheel? There is a bolt with a piece of metal on it that i suspect is there so it doesn't unthread. otherwise, I have no idea how to re-thread the two together. I can send more pics. Thanks.

You should be able to turn the adjuster with your hand to start it. It is designed so that you can adjust the toe-in without removing anything. There is a notch behind the nut that a wrench will fit, probably a 17mm or 19mm.
Thanks everyone for your help. The tie rod end was slightly stripped. I took it off and brought it to the dealer. He was able to tap it and get the threads in an acceptable position again. I took it home, re-installed and was able to thread it back togther...making sure to snug the lock nut once done.

your issue is because it looks like it was only threaded at the very end. very weak, is your other one adjusted this far out? that dust boot is also completely shot, need a new one or tape and grease before it wears out.
