Completely emission-free​

This fully-electric ferry, 24,70 m long and 6,50 m wide, is completely emission-free and entirely powered by battery power. Besides the battery pack, the vessel also has 20 solar panels on the roof to provide the onboard power supply network.

Non-conventional mooring system​

A noteworthy system on board the ferry is the non-conventional automated mooring system which features mooring hooks in both sides of the ship. The mooring system, which is one-man operated, is easily controlled from the wheelhouse. While mooring, the engine is not in use, resulting in a reduction in energy consumption.

The vessel will operate within the area of Kiel, between Reventlou and Wellingdorf and has a capacity of 140 pedestrians and 60 bicycles. It is expected to enter service at the end of the year 2020. The project is supported by the state department of traffic and digital infrastructure of the German government as part of the clean-air-program.

A lot of shopping centres and car parks have free fast charging bays here and if we went for an electric car we can get a deal with the power companies for $1 a day to charge, unfortunately the charging platform is cost prohibitive to make it a deal for me and we live too far away from charging stations.
I seem to recall seeing that a Tesla charger is about $20k.
The $1 a day is charged if you use the car or not.

That's great if you live in a big city, I don't, and don't plan on moving - read my posts on other battery/alternative fuel based posts on this site. What is going to happen to those of us that put food on your plate? I realize that some in congress would like to take our land and build low income housing and force all of us to eat Franken burgers- have you actually researched what they put in that garbage?? Or the amount of carbon emitted from the process?? For me and my family, we will eat meat, real meat, regardless if it's beef, pork, chicken or hunted.

The new GM Contract 3 of 4 plants scheduled to close will remain closed. One in Detroit will be repurposed to build electric trucks. They are already behind.

Just down the street is Rivian.

From The Verge "Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said the company has placed an order for 100,000 electric delivery vans from Michigan-based startup Rivian. The announcement came during an event on Thursday in Washington, DC where Bezos unveiled Amazon痴 sweeping plan to tackle climate change.

Bezos said he expects 100,000 Rivian vans to be on the road by 2024, according to USA Today reporter Nathan Bomey. The first vans will hit the road in 2021, with prototypes possibly arriving as soon as 2020"

Unfortunately, that front end looks like it was designed by Massey Ferguson.

And a sticker price of what? $150K+ Do Not include any subsidies or tax credits because they won't be around by the time the infrastructure makes it to Rural America. Sort of like the whole Hydrogen thing of "giving" you $15k Worth of Hydrogen. For me, the closest Hydrogen fill Station is around 2,000 miles away.

California thanks so much. Now when my battery gets low I can just use this with my 120v charging cable to add more miles anywhere. I thought he/she would have mentioned J1772 so your take may be correct. Can an inverter work in both directions? A 16 amp 120 volt outlet would be cool if its output was in specs.

I know there was a seller of hardware in Europe to do whole house backup from the Leaf battery but it is not available any longer but I am not sure how it worked.

A Kill-A-Watt meter could verify the voltage and Hz.

There is another Ebay seller where it is $76.70 including taxes to the door.

Oh, now I get it, it's a perpetual energy machine. You plug you fantasy EV car into the powerstrip so you can go forever on one charge, right? Do they make one for my fantasy tractor and farm truck too?? I think a couple of members of congress put this in the latest version of the multi-trillion $$ wishlist - two for every household, right?

If all you can afford is a old wreck, then all new cars are expensive.

Some of us work for a living (making those $100 steaks you love to eat at those high priced steakhouses) and have to rub two nickels together to make a quarter. We just don't have the "extra" $10-50k for a technology that really doesn't work in Rural America. We buy, as you put it, "Old Wrecks" not because we can't afford new vehicles, but because economically it is better to let someone lime you take the depreciation hit.

You might be surprised how many "big city" folk go out and buy them $100K pickups that were built for off road/rural living and trade them in for half what they paid for them without ever getting the underside muddy. Those of us out here, love finding these "city mile" vehicles so we can actually use them for what they were built for - after we sell those silly rims, etc. Making our price even less.

Gosh, I really hate giving away all if our secrets...

It's very small, 63 passengers and 16 cars. This is the only inland ferry I Norway and serves a small community.
