Mahindra Emax 25
I just did a hydraulic fluid change on my Emax 25 and after running it with the new fluid the sight glass is filled with small bubbles. The bubbles dissipate after letting it sit for an hour and the oil is nice and clear again. Is this normal?

The system is sucking air. If you changed the filter, that's your prime suspect. Either there's an extra gasket or it's not tight enough, or something.

I would remove the filter and see if you have any debris or even the old gasket is still there not allowing a quality filter seal. Clean and then reseat the filter, top off the hydraulic fluid, and evaluate. This mainly occurs at the 50hrs change with factory installed filters, but can happen with any filter.

Where you driving the tractor around or did you just let it sit and idle for a few minutes?

gears splashing in the oil can cause a little air to get in the oil while air leak on pump inlet will also cause air in oil but usually the pump will also be noisy under pressure

depending on how long you let the system drain could have also had some air in the lines. Again was air at startup or did you run this for an extended period of time and notice the bubbles?

Is it leaking around the filter base? been my experience i had to really torque the hydro filter way more than any crank case oil filter making sure where the gasket mates is a clean surface. If its a vertical filter screwing up to the base I always fill it with hydro oil before putting it on (on my old 2850 the hydraulic system doesn't prime and is full of air if I don't do that).

I started it for about a minute and checked the sight glass. Once I noticed this I shut it off immediately.

Did not drive it just let it run idle.

Didn't notice any leaks at the filter. I hand tightened it and then 3/4 turn with filter wrench.
