That's where I was referring to with so many crosses.
It does appear to be available online (but I never shop on-line - I want it now)
It wasn't available at local box store, and the local small engine place said it was discontinued and they didn't have the replacement.
I should have wrote his replacement number down.
I'll search a couple hardware stores around here.

Might try the NGK number or even the Bosch number most of the stuff I’ve ran is one or the other vs champion.

Yes most of the high revving 2 stroke bikes I’ve built run ngk I’d trust them over a champion plug any day.

I used the suggested cross reference by champion. They don't make the rcj4 anymore so rcj6y it is.
It's about a 1/4 inch longer and after cussing a bit I decided to put it in finger tight and pull the cord slowly to see
if the piston hit.
It didn't seem to so I said F it, I hate this saw anyway. I'll see what happens at high rpm.
Pulled and pulled and pulled that cursed thing again. No start.
Long story short, it seems the air filter is blocked enough to make starting really hard.
I can't find an air filter locally. I tried. I had already cleaned it as best I could but it wasn't much better.
I'll have to work more at that.
I got it started without the air filter on, then put the filter back on and it bogged down a bit but was warm
enough by then to keep running.
I had a stump I needed to finish cutting off as a base for my RV jack so went and did that.

Homelite said they no longer make parts for gas saws. They say it's New Old Stock now. What ever people have
kicking around.

I guess a new saw is in the future if I keep up this lumber stuff.

But..... as some may have guessed, that was not the end of my adventure today.

I put my RV jack stump in place. Loaded a log on the mill.
Guess what.... The first log I ever loaded that DIDN'T need to be adjusted for level (pith) LOL
Started cutting it and the whole cutting head started rocking and the blade was traveling in a snakey line.

As i've said all along, this is not my mill and I was ok with $500 for an engine (call it rent) but I really don't
want to put more money in this thing.
But at this point I have to too much invested to walk away. And even though the owner will never use the
mill he may not appreciate, and I can't morally, leave the thing broken and unusable. Even though that's how I
got it.

So off to search for saw blades. Wish I could just buy one.

Maybe someone can chime in as to whether this is a logical way to measure my blade for a replacement.

To measure my existing blade I started at the at the crack rotated the blade (still installed).
I marked every 1 foot of blade.
I ended up with 12 feet as an overall, then there was 3/8" more to finish at the crack again.
So my total measurement was 144 3/8".
Sound right?
I haven't looked yet but I think I remember seeing either 144 in or 145 in blades.

Do they all cut in the same direction? Mine, according to engine rotation would be CCW looking at the blade
and engine from the deck.

There is also a width measurement, right?
I measured 1 1/4 inches from the back of the blade to the "valley" part of the tooth, or 1 1/2" to the tip of the tooth.
I'm assuming the teeth can wear so it wouldn't be measured to the tooth, it would be to the so-called valley.
I've seen 1 1/4" blade widths mentioned.

I must have flinched on that second pic but It's supposed to show measurement to the tooth tip.

What saw is it?

Let’s see some of the stumps always interested to see how different parts of the world do it.

Different parts of the world?? I'm in Canada, not Siberia...

This one is what I ended up using as my RV jack stand. I shaved the top level but there was only about an inch of connecting tissue to remove.
About 1 1/2 feet high.

My cut yesterday. I got 27 feet of usable log from it and about 15 feet more that I couldn't use.
The top with limbs.

This is one my helper cut while I was moving the logs to the mill.
I came around the corner to see him waving frantically as the tree was falling in my direction
He was supposed to drop it the other way, but I can see why it didn't go quite where he expected.

In fairness, it did have kind of two different directions to the trunk.

Don't forget obstructed spark arrestor can cause problems just like air filter...

A Dutchman was put in on what I would call the far side of the stump where he bypassed the face at which point weight and gravity took over. There’s times you can use a Dutchman full faced or swinging to your advantage to do different things. I’ll put in stuff like that to make a tree swing around from the lean or spin around from the belly. Full faced are used to pop a tree off a stump quick.

Been busy in the woods, finally took the camera with me and got some pics.
Already shipped one truckload and this lot makes two, at least one more load still standing.
This tree is typical of the mature hemlocks and the underbrush in the fall zones is dense!
