Didn't we try to tell you to get a new blade?? Glad its working better for you!

What chainsaw did you get? And if someone else paid for it why not get top of the line?:D

Yeah, you did.
It's was always that "money for someone else's machine" thing. I had no choice now, so new blade(s) it was.
I'm too far into this.

The saw was expensed through the business that I and others administer. We barely justified the cost, and could
never have justified a more expensive saw because it's something we always wished we had around for the 2 times a year we
would use it.
It wasn't even my idea. One of the other committee members reminded me we had "wished" we had a saw a few times over the
years. Literally a few times.

It's a Champion 45cc 18"
$279 + tax

SO what is everyone using for a lube tank valve? A "home" solution.
A camping type water bottle will fit the rack. I already measured one.
Windshield (hollowed out??) washer pump in the tank and fuel shut off ?
I have $15 to spend :p

All the lube set ups I've seen are just gravity, mount the tank high and let it flow. My valve is connected to my throttle, hit the gas and the lube flows, let off and it stops.. dont have to worry about turning it on, or forgetting to turn it off and it all running on the ground.

I don't think that we have that brand south of the border.
Are you finding that you are getting more cutting done, now that you are running the saw rather than working on it?

They're a north American company mostly known for generators. Both portable and backup attached to houses.
I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link so if you're curious, google champion power equipment.
Some say it's good stuff, some say it questionable. Supposed to be US made I think.
Sure was inexpensive (cheap implies poor quality - and yes I know I called it "cheapo" LOL). Next price range up was Echo.

Yes, I'm getting more cutting done. 30 to 40 minutes (off the ground to back on the dry pile) each log now, which seems about as quick as I would want to do it safety-wise.
I'm behind schedule but it's because on my 2 days off I still have to do mundane stuff like groceries. Only have about 3 or 4 hours to cut each of those days.
I'm out of a job in 3 weeks due to closure (can't wait) and although I had hoped to be ready to stand up my wall on that date, at least
I can pour it on and finish cutting.
I'll only be out of work as long as I want to be and am getting a good buyout, but not enough to stay off work forever.

Yeah, their company description only mentions r&d in America. Not manufacturing.
No doubt it's made in China. Like everything else I guess. One way or another.
It would explain some saying it's questionable stuff.

Now to really speed up your cutting you need to work on sharpening.

The depth gauge grinder it makes a much smoother cutting chain vs the old way I use to do them.

Here’s why

This was the first tree of the day as stuff wears in it smooths out.

Once you mentioned generators I knew the company you are referring to. I had never heard of their chainsaws before, and all of the websites I saw them on were Canadian. (eh?)
If it works what does it matter what people think. I have a Poulan kicking around someplace, every couple of years I dump gas into it and use it for something like tearing apart a pigpen, or cutting roots... anything which I don't want to use my good saws for.
I paid $100 for it brand new, it bounced around in the back of the truck for a while, then I forgot that I even owned it for a couple of years, yet I dump fresh gas into it and it always starts.
