I think hardy pioneer stock???

All come from humble farming/ranching and all born at home.

It's amazing to me when someone is 100+ and sharp as can be describes life as it was... being snowed in for months in Montana or not leaving the ranch for a year because there was plague in town... or breaking a bone and having your dad set it because the nearest Doctor was days away...

For those counting... all women, all widows for many years... all only a single child except for one gentleman in the mix.

White with Red Interior, 260 V8, Auto and Power Steering...

I think it was 2500 +/- out the door and she sold it for $9,000 with 121,000 original miles, paint, interior and engine... the buyer was taking it to Germany...

Not famous but my neighbor would be 106 Friday passed this week at home.

Well into her hundreds she was still driving her bought new 64 Mustang… a widow at 50 she outlived child and grandchild.

104 was a nice celebration…

Sometimes I wonder living in a neighborhood with several firmly past 100 and many in their 90’s… at least I will still be the kid on the block for years to come.

I fondly remember my wife's grandparents often speaking of "the old lady" that lived next to them. She was, at most, 4 years older than them.

I think I've mentioned this before, but here it is again... between me, my dad, and my two grandpa's, there's 18 women an no other men. Being good male role models, they showed me all the good hiding places: in plain sight! The lawn gets mowed a lot, and the driveway is always shoveled.

When I was in college I knew a guy my age who looked to be about 50. Bald, heavily furrowed face, etc. He easily bought all of our beer without being carded. I saw him about 15 years later and he still looked 50.

edit. I just googled him and in his picture (I assume is recent) he looks about 60. Amazing.

Yeah, we had a big hairy guy in high school that even had gray in his beard. He had no troubles buying at the liquor stores.

Served her well for 50 years... only car she ever bought...

She was a new widow and before he died he told her to get it and that was that...

Car buddy of mine and a friend of his answered an ad for a used car...a '62 or '63 Chevy, 4 speed, 409, as I recall, positrac; fully loaded...a real hot rod. The lady selling it had bought it new; was getting up in years, and feeble. He asked the lady why she bought a hot rod like that. Her reply? "Young man, I haven't always been this old".
