Great insight from everyone. Looks like EDA is about as good of a report as anything. I am sure it only represents the dealers that are members but probably is a good gauge.

I agree revenue is not a good way of looking at it because of price difference and size of the tractors. I will reach out to some dealers that might share the information but most likely we will have to purchase the report to get the answer. Even then, don't know if it can be shared on a public forum.

Around here, being that tractors have to have license plates, it's easier to keep track of new units sold. Ag magazines will publish an yearly article with all the info they got from IMT (our DMV) on new units sold for a given year, HP interval, top 5 brands and so on.

Here is some info for the last year for anyone who cares. Left picture, on top, is a graphic with the total units sold across different brands and the market share for that year. On the bottom is a graphic with the same numbers spread in HP intervals. The right picture is the top 5 sellers across different HP intervals, keep in mind that those are in kilowatts (kW) and not in horsepower (HP).

Yes, the numbers may look small, but keep in mind that Portugal is about 107 times smaller than the US. :)

I think this probably covers all tractors where this board tends to be more of home owner, say a lot of 50 hp and under tractors. If you look at that segment it might look different. For example I live in an area of really good farm ground, western Illinois. Kubota is almost a non player in the ag business in my area, you see some of the bigger Kubota tractors being used for farming but not many. On the other hand JD, New Holland, Case seem to be the big players.

In the homeowner stuff, you see all sorts of tractors with Kubota and JD being popular.
And New Holland and Case are the same tractors and roll off the same production line and both are owned by CNH CNH Industrial - Homepage

That is exactly what we need to get a real picture. I am sure at some point a article will be written that has some of this information in the US but who knows when. Thanks for sharing!

The manufacturers would need to disclose that info and not make a secret out of that, because I'm sure they know exactly what they sell, even without the need for a license plate/title. That would indeed give the real picture.

Yea I saw that too. I wonder if their "farm tractor" is not the same as the CUTS most of us have, or our MFWD is not their "four wheel drive".

Farm tractors are much bigger and heavier. 4 wheel drive probably refers to center pivot big true 4 wheel drive. Not front wheel assist.

They're probably considering the 4WD tractor the big ones that articulate in the middle, like the Case Steiger or the JD 9R.
