Stores should two price tags on everything. Regular price for a carton of milk is $4.25
UAW member price is $8.50

You make more money than someone else doing the same job, so why shouldn't you pay more for things? Only fair that the grocery store gets their share of what you make.

A comment to that article did show that that the base rate was about $40k which agrees with what the wage article shows. The electrical box that got damaged when an unskilled driver plowed a tractor into it now needed a skilled tradesman to repair it.

Auto workers are unskilled labor. There is no reason they should expect to be able to make the money skilled trades do.
All "auto workers are unskilled labor"? What about the electricians, millwrights, toolmakers, carpenters, tinners, pipefitters, jig and fixture, tool and die, pump repair, small tool repair, inspection, fork truck repair, vehicle repair, etc that are "auto workers"?

All "auto workers are unskilled labor"? What about the electricians, millwrights, toolmakers, carpenters, tinners, pipefitters, jig and fixture, tool and die, pump repair, small tool repair, inspection, fork truck repair, vehicle repair, etc that are "auto workers"?
And those jobs would still be paid well without a union because they are worth something.
The people who stand on the line bolting fenders on would be lucky to make half of what they do
