How's that Agri-Fab leaf vacuum been doing for you?
I've been considering one, and I've no complaints with the Agri-Fab implements (aerator and roller) I own
It works great as long as you have the mower running also. If you try to vac without the blades it doesn't work so good. That makes it hard to remove them though as the mower tends to blow the leaves forward as you drive over them. Still better than doing it by hand!

Happy Halloween all!
Raw and rainy 49 here with this the second day of rain! What a crazy wet year so far. Better than a drought but sure is depressing!
Will be doing leaves again if it dries out. Almost all of them are down now except the oaks.
Need to drain and pickup the outside hoses. Freezing temps are on the horizon.
Hopefully get a few trick or treaters tonight so I'm not forced to eat all the candy myself.
Not much else planned for today.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Happy Halloween, for those who celebrate it!

Slept in quite late (for me) this morning...not out of bed until a bit after 0800...

50° and light rain right now. Rain all day, per the forecast and a high in the mid-50's

Very unlikely I'd be doing much more then puttering about...and providing care to Suzette when she need it

Good afternoon. Our 4 year old grandson wasn't fooled at all by the clocks going back an hour, he got us up as usual an hour before the first chink of daylight. My wife had carved his pumpkin out yesterday, so this was the ideal opportunity to try it out before his return home for tonight's trick-or-treating.

Wng, hope your powder stayed dry in the rain.
I have only shot muzzleloaders on firing ranges, not familiar with them for field use. Must be exciting after a shot, waiting for the smoke to clear. At the end of your day, do you fire off your charge before you climb down from the tree stand?

Got shims for desk hutch cut, results not what I wanted
Mostly, I was wondering what the heck a "desk hutch" is - good thing I have Google to educate me.

mostly, hope the desk project goes well. I always hated riding into the wind, especially cold wet wind.

helping out at a Trunk or Treat this evening, at a small country church.

I should've taken some pics of the sickle bar repair, and the actual cutting. I only replaced 1 section (but sharpened many), replaced 2 knives, and one of the cutter's "knife clips", which is what they call the metal fingers that push down on the sections. Sickle bar cutters are some crazy contraptions, that if everything is singing in harmony, they do a good job. My 9' is great at trimming the pond's edge. My 2 acre pond has 2 tributaries, with about 3200 feet of shoreline. Before getting this cutter, I have done it with my 5' shredder, by backing down to the water's edge, 4 feet at a time. This almost sent me to the chiropractor. Neck craning at it's worst. Mine is a Deere 350, I would love to try the Deere 450 which has it's own caddy (or equivalent)....good grief they can be expensive.

Roy, hope Suzette gets back on her feet soon. My buddy who is still in a wheelchair (from Covid intubation), can now use his walker around the house. He is extremely motivated to get going again. His right leg is still sleeping, but he says he feels the "pins and needles", so we are praying that the nerves are firing up again. He can lock his right knee, but can't lift it.

Popgadget, It sounds like a great quorum. Hope you got some barn cleaned up.

Prayers for our team, and our country.

Good morning to all! Low of 38, going up to 68, light breezes, no precipitation forecast until later in the week.

I spent some time yesterday ripping some trim for the new shed doors, then getting it prepainted. The doors were completed and hung on Friday, so they also got a coat of paint. The trim will get installed today on the doors, officially completing another project. Now the old wellhouse has a new purpose as a garden tool shed.

90% of the leaves here are done changing colors and most have been blown off the trees during the winds a few days ago. Still awaiting the first heavy frost even though we have been below freezing a few times.... just no moisture / humidity to form frost.

Kyle, a sickle bar mower sounds like a lot of maintenance, but well worth the effort! I remember my dad having a walk behind sickle.... for some reason I was not allowed to use it as a kid, even though I was the dedicated labor to do the mowing. I was allowed to use the old Wheel Horse garden tractor and Lawn Boy push mower...... never found out why I couldn't use the sickle....

Drew, I may have missed it, but what was the outcome of the shed / Rubbermaid? Did you have to return it?

I like all the pics of fall colors, beautiful areas of the country for sure!

Everyone have a great day!

64°F and no rain.

Bathroom floor sealed. Vanity ready to install. Unpacking range and refrigerator resulted in lots of packing for dump run.

Scag back in service and Soph finished up the interrupt mowing.

Will likely get a football game in today.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I'm still waiting for Rubbermaid to respond. If I don't hear from them tomorrow, I'm going back to Home Depot and asking for a full
refund. There is no way to return it; it was many pieces shrink wrapped together on a broken pallet. Can't put that back together again.

45°F and cloudy and windy this morning, going up to 57° today. It is supposed to be sunny today, but that only lasted about maybe 15 minutes while we were eating breakfast out in the sunroom. Some dark clouds rolled in and it got very windy. I really need to get some outdoor stuff done today, as we're going to be dipping below freezing overnight most of this coming week.

Wife was watching the little one again last night, as the boy and his girlfriend went to a Halloween party. I stayed up way too late waiting for them to get back, and my stayupiness ran dry just after midnight. No idea what time they arrived, as I was already fast asleep what The Wife finally came to bed. They (he) apparently drank too much, as he's been in and out of the bathroom all morning, and is still in bed as I write this at 12:22pm. That's about to change, though, as I'm in the studio, which is right across the hall from the bedroom where he's sleeping, and I'm getting ready to continue working on some drum parts I started last night. Wakeup call!

Hoping it warms up a bit this afternoon. Really need to clean and store the kayaks, then drain and store the hoses.

57F misting rain.

Heavy rains sure clean streams of leaves pine needles  while the run off was still high I added lot more leaves and let the power of the water take them away. (y)

Got call from local butcher shop asking if I would be interested in part time job,we did meet and greet and agree 20 hour week maybe tad more if needed, work what days I wish from 4am to 4pm any 7 days just stocking cooler show cases shelfs, seems like good pay for putter job and good deals on meat etc. plus close to home...it's been hard for business to find and keep help in our area since Covid 19 appear... Mrs. not to fond of the idea but it sure beats being bored, early to bed and early to rise.

Looks like feet up evening sharing bowl ice cream.

Enjoy your evening all.

So much happening here I don't honestly know where to start.
Stepson came for the weekend to help out. Pulled a rotten gutter off the back of the house. Messy job. Pulling kitchen apart so electrician can access walls to fit switches. Emptied all pantry and kitchen stuff into 8 storage bins. Finishing architraves around windows. 9 more to do. Wife helping to paint them. Big job. Shed kit arriving today. 4 1/2 tonnes. Builder to erect next week. 6 meters of topsoil arriving today and 3 meters garden loam. (where to dump it all?) Lawn needs mowed, weeds need sprayed. Paddocks need mowed. Cars need washed. Who said retirement was easy?

It does sound like a lot is going on.... I love to spread dirt, or gravel, but only with my tractor's FEL and box blade....like spreading icing on a cake.

Drew, sorry about your shed situation. Hope you get them to take it back, or the piece will show up.

   / Good morning!!!! #140,575
Drew, best of luck getting your shed resolved.

Doug, good you’re staying busy

Sounds like some really nice family time being had.

Well, got the shed remodel completed. Well almost..... just some paint touch up on the trim and the door has to be painted. All new siding, trim, and roof. Didn't turn out too bad for a 25 year old shed.FA7EF1F6-B1DF-4DCF-9D04-3B58676C7817.jpegBDAB5964-54D5-4C56-8122-C6A0871BE21A.jpeg
I ran out of steam and the knee was complaining, so tomorrow will be the official completion.

:giggle:

Wasn't too bad...not really rain, just some drips off the trees as the first breeze blew.

When I first hunted with a borrowed blackpowder rifle, that procedure was required. The more modern version allows you to just remove the firing cap which makes the gun considered safe and "unloaded" by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. Sorta like having a rifle cartridge without the primer, I guess. There is still just one bullet (.50 caliber), loaded from the muzzle along with powder, and the cloud of smoke when fired.

It is unlawful to hunt over bait or minerals, and it is unlawful to even feed deer from September 1 to January, and discouraged by them at any time due to potential disease spread, since a few western counties have reports of Chronic Wasting Disease.

That's a real nice jack-o-lantern.

Coffee is brewing. 46° with light rain this morning. Heading to 53° with more in the morning. Cloudy skies in afternoon. .66" since yesterday. Found something that was easy to install on Mule. CV guards took about 10 minutes each to install. Did not get anything else done. Not sure what I will get done today.
Tree from a few day ago has gotten full color. Hope to get some dry weather so I can get drone out and get more pictures.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Pretty tree Ron, hope you get to fly the drone.

Back from camping, put some nice ruts in my yard getting the camper put in its place. Even had to use 4 wheel drive it’s so wet.

Last night had a nice campfire but sat back under the camper awning due to rain dripping.
Told the camp host about my GBS experience camping there 2 yrs ago, he had never heard of GBS.

Lunch before we left.
IMG_2383.JPG

Finally had sunshine on the drive home. And very windy.
IMG_2389.JPG

Once camper was unpacked, decided to mow just the front, which ended up being the field also. Got all the leaves mowed that are down.
Saw a nice buck down by the creek, but too far for a pic. Took mower down to get closer but it ran back into the woods.
Took tree pics while mowing, but was getting too dark.
Our only wild dogwood.
